A Valentine’s Day Look for the Sunday Showcase

More than likely, my husband will be out of town for Valentine’s day, but we will try our hardest for a date this month. I thought this pretty outfit with my red tulle skirt and the cozy fun topper would tie in both Valentine’s Day and winter with the textures. I added a fun detail with the pink combat boots: it’s all about the juxtaposition of feminine and edgy with today’s look!

I probably would have never imagined myself wearing this when I was younger: I didn’t have the confidence of wearing what I thought would look good and probably paid too much attention to what other people thought. I think I really started feeling confident in my fashion style in my early forties.

I still sometimes get influenced to buy things because it looks good on others, but I usually do make sure that I think it looks good on me too! Otherwise, it becomes a mistake that goes in the donation pile and that is not good for the wallet nor the environment. I also have been adding more items I consider fun like the skirt and the pink boots.

And to think I almost did not buy the skirt: my mother in law had to convince me to buy it and now I still want to buy one in another color. The reason I haven’t is because I am not sure whether I want to go bold (royal blue or yellow) or go neutral with either black or grey.

I have been working hard on taking my pictures in advance for my posts: my teen needs some income and it really is a good stress reliever for me to have fun with fashion and writing my blog posts.

PS: I am wearing this today for church. I might not blend in too well!
