Western Summer Style Inspiration

It’s been a lot of fun mixing it up this summer with my outfits! Brights, neutrals, dresses, shorts, boho and now some western inspiration by shopping my closet after seeing an idea on Pinterest. I thrifted my crochet vest last year and have worn it a few times on the blog (with a dress here , over a monochromatic look here and over a tee and linen pants here), so it has been a good purchase. Today’s look is very casual and fun, and I found a new spot to take pictures: instead of cotton, the fields have been planted with corn this year, so the background is a little different!

I did switch out of the boots for sandals for the rest of the day because it is a little too humid for the boots, but this would be a fun outfit for a rodeo, a visit to the western museum in town or even going out with the girls!

Pictures today are compliments of my 7 year old: we have figured out a couple of tricks we need to use when he takes pictures: it’s better if I wear sunglasses so it doesn’t matter if my eyes are looking down, and taking pictures where we have more space makes it easier for him to center the pictures and have better angles.

It’s nice to have a light and airy layer for summer: I miss layering in the summer because it is too hot, but this crochet vest works out well even if it is hot and it doubles as protection from the hot car seats!

I really like taking pictures in different spots: it’s fun to share some of the pretty sight near around town. I am so grateful for this fields every year and I guess it was the year for crop rotation since it is the first time in 7 years that they planted corn instead of cotton. It’s amazing to see how fast corn grows too: I will be taking another set of pictures and we should be able to tell the difference in height.

I can’t believe summer is already almost drawing to an end. Only a few more weeks and the boys will return to school. I will miss our slow lazy days (even if I had to get up early a couple times a week to drop off my teen to cross country practice).
