Embracing Spring Trends while Shopping My Closet: Ageless Style Link up

Spring trends are the topic of today’s blog post with the Ageless Style ladies! I will be sharing a few more trends this month, but today I chose to combine navy, lace and fringe from my closet which were all mentioned as some of 2026 spring trends. Both of those the purse and blouse were thrifted a while back and I don’t think I had paired them with this maxi before. I do not typically pay attention to trends, but I do like to see what is trending in the spring and seeing what I already own that I can style in a new way.

I took advantage two weekends in a row for my oldest to take some pictures for me. While I like this outfit, I actually find it a little boring. It’s pretty and has some fun pieces like the earrings and the pretty lace, but I find it a little plain.

I’ve been wanting to wear this maxi as a dress since it is very long and plan to do that soon. I am getting a little tired of our weather with its yo-yo patterns: or should we say not pattern? We had temps in the mid 70s one day followed by two really cold days, one of which included snow flurries: that’s crazy!

It’s the time of the year when I am looking forward to spring break: while we are not going anywhere, I have a couple hikes planned and I plan to plan some zinnias and some lavender plants. I ordered 4 or 5 French lavender plants online and I really hope they will do well. Everything I had in pots last year died with our siding got redone: they covered my plants with tarps and then moved them: the roots were actually in the ground through the pots which killed my lavender and rosemary. I was not happy!

I complain about summer coming, but I plan to enjoy any mild day till then. I will get back to my weekly picnics for a bit and need to take time to enjoy the outdoors while I can!

I am excited to see what my friends are sharing for their spring trends, so don’t forget to stop by their blogs! And be on the lookout here for at least 2 more 2026 spring trends shopped from my closet in the coming weeks.

It’s true… I do wonder though, if I could pair the skirt with other colorful tops. It tend to wear it with navy or white.

I like this shades of blue outfit. It’s very subtle but a gentle way into spring. I was especially drawn to the crochet purse with the little fringe. So cute and gives me all the “festival” vibes. I am so ready for spring and honestly summer is my favorite season. I hadn’t thought about flowers but now you have me dreaming on nice flower pots all over my deck!

Yes, that is my favorite part of the warmer months: the flowers! This purse is really fun! I have worn it a lot more than I thought I was going to.

I think you are right: I have been adding more fun details in my outfits and this one is missing a contrasting color in some way: maybe in accessories and then I would like it better. It’s funny because I was writing Monday’s post and it is somewhat monochromatic (Canadian tuxedo), but all of the accessories are raffia/straw and I love that outfit. The contrast makes it fun. Thank you, Marsha!
