Thrifted Striped Dress
Today, I am sharing a simple thrifted dress I have enjoyed wearing the past couple of months. I have found myself reaching for dresses more this summer, so I have been browsing the dress section when I stop by the thrift store. Do I need more dresses in my closet? Probably not, but since I haven’t been reaching as much for some of mine, I decided to add a few. I finally realized that the dresses I have been thrifting have more of a relaxed fit and they have been either gauze, linen or a cotton blend.

When it is warm, wearing something that is looser on your body makes more sense. So I do think that once fall arrives, I will reach once again for my tried and true fitted or wrap dresses. It’s not that I do not like them anymore, it is just not the best season for them. Since I have been wearing more dresses lately, I have had friends ask if I am going somewhere special when I run my errands. No, it’s just a usual day in the life of someone who likes clothes!
I found some cream accessories in my closet to let the dress shine! I have worn this dress to church and on a week day and love the ease of wearing it. One and done! It does not have a brand label, so I am assuming it is from Amazon, but when I browsed the dress aisle, the feel of the fabric, the color and striped pattern caught my eye. While it does not have a fabric label either, it feels like a cotton blend.

With a busy week ahead, I have planned most of my outfits: I lay them out usually about 5 days ahead and make a few tweaks as necessary when I put them on. With a dress, usually there are no tweaks needed as I know how it will look. No time wasted in the morning.

Do you have any favorite dresses in your closet? I definitely have some that are on heavier rotations some years more than others. That is why I do not purge my closet, but occasionally edit it if something is worn out or has really moved out of the style that I enjoy wearing.
