Sweatshirts with Ageless Style Link Up

I had several ideas in mind for this post as I have a number of sweatshirts but ended up with a spur of the moment photoshoot last week on the day of my haircut. The trees are rapidly blooming and losing their blooms so I thought this bright yellow sweatshirt would be very appropriate for a bright sunny day and taking pictures near this tree would be perfect for spring. My favorite sweatshirts are lightweight and in cheery colors. I dream of wearing sweatshirts with shorts but typically once shorts season is here sweatshirts are out of the question because it is too hot for them.

Since I am not shopping this month, everything I am wearing is shopped from my closet. This is one of the outfits I will probably pack for our spring break but I may pair the sweatshirt with joggers. These little tie dye espadrilles for Old Navy (clearance last fall) have really been great to slip on for a quick fun shoe and they are pretty comfortable even if with not much support.

When on vacation, I typically choose a small crossbody purse. I love a crossbody purse as it is less likely to get stolen, it is easy to wear when having to hold children’s hands and the smaller size means one of my kids is carrying the heavy things in a backpack. This little one was a gift from a friend about 10 years ago. I brought it to France and it was perfect for a wallet, passports and my phone.

We found a new spot for pictures, at the back of a nearby church. I was telling my son how it really felt like the countryside back there with the fields and bales of hay. We were in a bit of a hurry since I was trying to meet a friend for a walk before taking one of the boys to running club. It was a busy week last week!

Isn’t this a fun shade of yellow? I love the 3/4 sleeves of this sweatshirt and how lightweight it is. That means I can wear it longer. Even though the weather has been beautiful for the most part, I feel as if I have been taking advantage of it as much as I usually do. Between being busy, a rainy day here and there to soak everything and a cold snap last weekend, we have spent more time inside the past two weeks than out. I am looking forward to spring break knowing we will spend most of it outside. We just need to make sure to be prepared for seasonal allergies.

Thankfully the boys typically outgrow the pollen allergies or are only more irritated by some pollens but my 8 year old had a really hard time last year. Not sure how this year will pan out as the weather was been wonky. Hoping that the short life of the blooms means less pollen. Now that my hair is shorter again, I need to get back to wearing my statement earrings again. I have been mostly wearing my little hoops which are really pretty but it is fun to change it up.

Don’t forget to check out how the other ladies styled their sweatshirts. I may have to share my original idea this summer as it will be more appropriate then.

I am loving yellow more and more and I never did. I guess it’s because we need happy colours at the moment! Gorgeous blossom too! I love this time o the year! Nature is so gorgeous and the birds are making such noise!

Happy colors are awesome. Blue skies make such a big difference for me. I don’t have allergies thankfully!

That is a super cute shade of yellow, Mireille, and it looks lovely on you! Your new photo spot is so pretty, too! I love finding new photo backgrounds! I hope your little guy doesn’t suffer too much from allergies this season. Ralph actually outgrew his tree nut allergy which they said rarely happens. We just retested him in the fall and all of his allergies are gone except ragweed. But I feel like everyone is allergic to ragweed!

Ragweed is a bad one for mine too. My oldest actually stayed home from school because he woke up feeling horrible. Last time he had a bad allergy day he slept half the day away (he is not one to sleep much usually). He already sounded better when he came down a minute ago.

I had so many ideas for this prompt too; I have one sweatshirt with a wide cowl neck that I really wanted to style but every time I pulled the outfit together the weather did not cooperate for photos. This looks like a really comfortable outfit that does remind me of vacation. I too tend to use crossbody bags when traveling; especially if we’re going to do a lot of walking or exploring.

Your photo shoot is fantastic! I love seeing the spring blooms.

I too was planning a different photo shoot but a week of rain forced me to do a last mintue inside shots.

I love your yellow sweatshirt! Does’t it feel so good to know that you have a working wardrobe? And you can dress for any occasion. No need to be constantly shopping.

Thank you! So true about the shopping! I have found in the past one of my shopping trigger is stress and boredom.

Love your cheerful, sunny yellow sweatshirt-it’s the perfect color for spring! Like your new haircut, too. Allergy season has not quite hit Maryland, yet, but it won’t be long. I get a double whammy in spring-dust indoors and trees and grasses outdoors. Thanks for hosting the link up and have a good week!

I will be bringing it and my other ones on spring break in a couple of weeks. This one would actually be nice for Arizona too since it is so light.

  • Suzy Turner

That sweatshirt is perfect for the spring weather, Mireille. I particularly love the thinner fabric, and the colour is stunning. I’m loving your haircut too!
I hope your son is ok. I’ve developed what I’m assuming is hay fever over the past few months and it’s driving me crazy!
    Big hugs,
    Suzy xx

2 of the boys had issues this week with allergies but today they are doing much better. It helps that we have been getting rain several times this week.

I have never seen a sweatshirt so thin before, that is cool. I also love the color. I can’t believe your trees are almost done blooming. We won’t see blooms till May. I agree about sweatshirts and shorts. I see so many bloggers where sweaters or blazers with shorts and I think it looks great but then I think “If it’s cold enough to wear a sweatshirt, it’s too cold to wear shorts”

    • mimifce

Exactly! I love that this one is thin and I usually wear a little tank under. It’s really perfect for our springs here. My other lighter ones I wear in the evening.

  • Mica Away From The Blue

Yellow is always such a cheerful colour to wear and you look great in your yellow top! So nice for spring with the jeans, and such a lovely photo with the flowers on the tree too! 🙂

Hope you’re having a great weekend 🙂 We went to a birthday party yesterday which was fun.

  • ROBIN LAMONTE

I love your happy yellow sweatshirt, Mireille!
I also wear lightweight sweatshirts in Atlanta and wear the heavier ones in Park City.
Pollen season is already here but thankfully you and I don’t mind it.
I am enjoying the spring blossoms on the trees!

    Happy spring!

    • mimifce

Thanks, Robin! Makes sense: you kind of need to wardrobe: one for the mild south and one for the colder Utah!

  • Bojana+Krienke

You were wishing for snow and I am wishing for this glorious spring background. You completely nailed it with the cheery yellow top and the tree blossoms. I absoultely love the one of you sitting in front of the tree. Happy first day of spring lady.
