OOTD: Shopping my Closet to Copy Looks

I have been getting inspiration from different bloggers’ blog posts and Instagram posts to create my daily outfits recently. Another way to shop your closet and make new outfits is to take note when you see an outfit you like and can replicate in some shape or manner. Here are the looks I copied with my version of them! Inspired by Megan from Honey We’re Home Megan is always a great source of inspiration for outfits and home organization. Her pink vest in this post caught my attention since I have one in my closet and I knew right away this would be an easy look to wear. I have…

    2021 Travel Plans

We were able to go on vacation a few times last year, choosing spots that offered outdoor activities and where we knew we would not be around too many people. That allowed us to spend quality time as a family and gave us a nice break from our daily routine. In these uncertain times, that is how I am planning this year’s vacations: no traveling abroad but taking advantage of what our nearby states have to offer. Spring Break My husband brought home a Southern Living magazine from the grocery store last week and while I had originally planned to spend a week in North Georgia for spring break, pictures…

    Baking Bread

Having grown up in France, I have always been very particular about my bread: when you grow up in a village in the south of France able to walk to the bakery to pick up a fresh baguette for your breakfast, American sandwich bread does not even compare even nice bread from the grocery store. So every so often, I will bake a bread at home, trying recipes from Pinterest. I do have a great baguette recipe from my friend in France but I have not idea where I put it! The following linked recipes are my favorites from Pinterest and both very easy. The best breads are cooked at…

    Tennessee Aquarium: Part 2

Last week, I shared some pictures from our winter break visit to the Tennessee aquarium in Chattanooga. It felt good to get out of the house and do something fun. We enjoy our visit as well as a nice lunch at a nearby restaurant. We found a cool spot for pictures outside: this painting was really pretty. Now isn’t this leopard ray amazing! I shared a lot of these pictures on my Instagram and thought this was a propos for all of us lovers of prints and leopard. Did you know that this creature existed? The sea turtle was very agreeable and hung out near the window where we sat.…

    Little Black Dress 3 Ways

One of the things I would like to focus this year is sharing ways to wear one item. It may be an item that was an investment piece, a thrifted item, a statement item or a classic piece like a little black dress. I have this dress in black and purple and I will share a couple ways at the end of this post with the purple dress to show you that a classic timeless dress does not have to be a neutral to be versatile. My sister in law handed down both of these dresses to me last year and I had forgotten how well they fit and how…

    Friday Favorites

It has been a while since I did a post about some Friday favorites. Today, I wanted to share some Christmas gifts that I really enjoyed. Echo Dots I had heard of echo dots but hadn’t really thought about how they could be useful in my house. My husband surprised me with two of them and at first I looked at him confused about how these were a good present for me. He then explained how apart from being used for music and other things, they could be used as intercoms. We have a true 3 story house and my teen’s room is on the top floor. I spend a…

    Tennessee Aquarium: Fun Winter Outing

Last January, before everyone’s life changed in one way or another, our family took a short weekend trip to Chattanooga and one of our outings was at the Tennessee Aquarium. It wasn’t much more to add a year membership to our admission (with our family of 6, I think it was only 30 dollars more) but we ended up not going back till now. Thankfully, since the aquarium was closed for 3 months, they added 3 months to our membership so we will be able to go back a few more times till the end of May. I had forgotten how enjoyable the aquarium was. It was a cold and…

My Favorite November and December Outfits

Some months, I recap my favorite outfits of the month in one or two posts and sometimes I forget. I haven’t done that in a while, so I decided I would look back at my outfits for the last two months and decide which outfits I liked best. I will say that having a good hair day also influences which outfits made the cut! I ended up with 10 outfits with two of them being from our beach trip at Thanksgiving. Grey Monochromatic Look Love every piece in this outfit and wore it again on New Year’s Day! I have worn these booties so much more than I expected. Snakeskin…

    2021 Goals

My main goals are typically similar each year but with each year, I hopefully gain some wisdom, learn some new skills and tools to reach those goals. My two main goals have to do with the blog and my spending. Budget Clothing  With a more flexible income and budget often comes more spending! I was disappointed in myself last year with how much I spent on clohtes. I did not add it up like I planned to but I know the numbers would be scary! So this year when I record my spending in my ledger, I will be highlighting my own clothing purchases as a category. Highlighting it in…

    Most Viewed 2020 Blog Posts

I always find it interesting to see which post received the most views. I was actually surprised at these but they were all fun posts to write. Inspired by Paula at Dimples on my What My two favorite fashion posts to write are my Inspired by looks and the ones that show how to wear an item several ways. Despite me having spent more than I should on clothes in 2020, I do find it quite fun and satisfying to shop my closet. This was a really fun look to copy and I love Paula, her blog and her instagram stories. This post got 278 views which means that people…
