Fort Gaines, Alabama
Across from Fort Morgan, on Dauphin Island is Fort Gaines. We spent half a day on Dauphin Island and decided to visit this fort too in order to compare it to Fort Morgan and also just because we like forts! Construction on Fort Gaines began in 1819. The project was afflicted with problems one of which was its cost and it wasn’t until 1853 that work really started and it was mostly completed by 1861. Falcons game date night
Thanks to Ed, a friend of my husband, we were able to go on a date night to the Falcons’ football game at the Mercedes-Benz stadium in Atlanta. It was a great budget friendly date since all we paid were our parking and a bottle of water walking back to our car. What made this date special is that we typically just go out to dinner for our dates so doing something out of the ordinary for us made our outing very special. Thanks Ed! Favorite spring break memories, linking up to The Queen in Between
Today, I am linking my post to Shelly from The Queen in Between! The theme is spring break memories! Spring break is one of my favorite school breaks. It is a precursor to summer break, the weather has usually warmed up some and the sky if hopefully blue without a cloud. We typically try to incorporate outdoors activities during this break and meet up with the cousins. Whether it is a trip to the zoo, a museum or hiking, we like to get together.
