Summer Recap: What Happened this Summer?

It was a busy summer! While we had some quiet weeks between our family vacation and the end of July, there was a lot of traveling and some fun times this summer. The boys spent a lot of time outside with their friends and we went to the pool just a few times. I visited friends and can say: this was a good summer!

Colorado

First off, we spent a week in Colorado as a family. You can read about that trip my searching for Colorado on the blog, but here is one of my favorite post.

Fishing and Colombian Festival

I took my two youngest fishing at a trout farm (it’s like cheating), but it was fun and the fish was delicious. We got enough for two dinners. Our town had a Colombian festival with people traveling from a couple hours away. Next year, we will plan to eat our dinner there! We stayed awhile and watched some dancing and some singing.

Chattanooga, TN

I went to Chattanooga for a quick visit with my friend Rachel: we had breakfast and went thrifting.

Greenville, SC

The boys and I spent a few days in Greenville while my 15 year old was at a Barbershop music camp at Furman University. I shared about our activities in 3 blog posts (here, here and here).

Arizona Visit with Jodie

I had a wonderful time in Arizona visiting Jodie and Rob. I am so grateful for how our blogs brought us together and I told her she feels like the big sister I never had. She always inspires me and look at that: great minds think alike: summer brights for the blog had us choosing similar colors! Jodie is as genuine in person as she is on her blog and IG. So grateful for our friendship!

Of course a trip to visit Jodie has to include some shopping: we visited two thrift stores and Just Beautiful Boutique in Surprise, AZ. I got some wonderful things that will be making their way on the blog over the next month or so.

Jodie’s and Rob’s meals always inspire me to come home and reset my eating habits. One of the main things I have added is the coconut butter with almond butter bowl when I crave something sweet (with nuts and blueberries). I am very thankful for having friends with wonderful hospitality!

Goddaughter’s Baby Shower

I flew in from Arizona Saturday night and drove to Alabama for my Goddaughter’s baby shower. As you can see, she is expecting a baby girl. It was fun to see all of the gals I remember as babies and toddlers married and having families of their own.

Misc

I’ve been making puzzles all summer long (typically 1000 piece one, but I did do a 750 piece one. My favorite was this one!

My mom gave me two of my grandmother’s turquoise rings, I love them!

Run club met and visited a local dam at the end of June! And I picked up some French goodies on the 4th of July before heading to the parade.

I am sure there is more to share, but this post is getting long, so there you go, my summer in photos!

A bientôt!
