Family fun when quarantined
Today I wanted to share some of the things we have been doing to make our days a little more fun! We definitely have created a loose routine that works for us with school work being done usually between 9 and 12 and meals at our regular times. My teen is very happy not to have to wake up at 7:30 while his brothers wake up at their usual time (for my 9 year old, that is 6 am!!). Do not feel the pressure to entertain your kids all day long. We have electronics time during the 2 year old’s nap and we have some tv time during the day too. But here are some things that the children have enjoyed!
- eat outside
- play charades
- play telephone at the dinner table
- go for a walk
- go for a bike ride
- plant some flowers
- make a craft (so many ideas on Pinterest) by using what you have on hand
- Doodles with Mo Willems (YouTube)
- Home safari with Cincinatti zoo (YouTube)
- play card games in an unusual place (on the trampoline, on a blanket in the grass)
- Bake a new recipe. We definitely have enjoyed some fun desserts this past week, all easy to make
Remember do what works for your family! I have found myself more tired at the end of the day than usual and I am not really doing much more than usual apart from being outdoors more and checking that the kids do their school work. We are not doing any extra school related activities than what the digital learning lessons require but I have tried to make the days a little fun each day.
A bientôt!

Your boys are so cute and looks like they are spending quality time doing fun things. Loving their art projects!
The treats look delicious! We’ve been cooking and baking more as well, my daughter and I made crepes last night for an after dinner snack 🙂

What fun things to do with your kids! My sons are teenagers so trying to get them off electronics is not always fun. Those donuts looks so yummy!

My oldest had just gotten a phone so I have to check every so often on what he is doing whether he is really reading a book or not lol

Great suggestions! I’ve been more tired too. Just trying to ensure my oldest is getting her work done and get things set up can be exhausting! Hopefully it gets warm enough to eat outside near us soon!

We’ve been lucky with the weather but it gets hot very quickly here so we try to enjoy it now because soon we will have to only go out early or later in day.

Hopefully April doesn’t get too crazy hot or we will have to figure out which hours work for outside time. It is already hot at certain parts of the day. I need to get some sunscreen!

We just started online learning with their school this week and I feel it is a nice distraction and keeps us all busy. I love some of these ideas. We had a 70 degree day today and it’d be nice to eat outside for lunch sometimes.

It is pretty neat what they can do nowadays with technology and there are a lot of website for the young ones to help support what they learn. I am just glad my 13 year old is pretty independent and it doesn’t take him to long to do his work.

I need to check out this Doodles video! That looks like lots of fun! We have been walking when the weather permits and my kids have been building forts in the back yard and taking their lunch outside to eat in the forts. They engage with the kids next door over the fence and play survival! I love how they are using their imaginations so much these days. Thanks for sharing and linking up, my friend.
