Family fun when quarantined

Today I wanted to share some of the things we have been doing to make our days a little more fun! We definitely have created a loose routine that works for us with school work being done usually between 9 and 12 and meals at our regular times. My teen is very happy not to have to wake up at 7:30 while his brothers wake up at their usual time (for my 9 year old, that is 6 am!!). Do not feel the pressure to entertain your kids all day long. We have electronics time during the 2 year old’s nap and we have some tv time during the day too. But here are some things that the children have enjoyed!

  • eat outside

  • play charades
  • play telephone at the dinner table

  • go for a walk

  • go for a bike ride
  • plant some flowers
  • make a craft (so many ideas on Pinterest) by using what you have on hand

  • Doodles with Mo Willems (YouTube)

  • Home safari with Cincinatti zoo (YouTube)
  • play card games in an unusual place (on the trampoline, on a blanket in the grass)
  • Bake a new recipe. We definitely have enjoyed some fun desserts this past week, all easy to make

Remember do what works for your family! I have found myself more tired at the end of the day than usual and I am not really doing much more than usual apart from being outdoors more and checking that the kids do their school work. We are not doing any extra school related activities than what the digital learning lessons require but I have tried to make the days a little fun each day.

A bientôt!
