Favorite September Looks (Part 2)
I am concluding my review of my September look by sharing my fallish looks. If it is too warm, I try to incorporate fall with colors and textures or prints. While our early mornings have cooled down, the afternoons are now in the mid 70s and we have to shed the layers.
Transitioning to Fall
This is the 2nd skirt my neighbor and friend gave me: I love it! Isn’t this tie dye print and aren’t the colors perfect for fall? I added this thrifted denim jacket with it to make it fall worthy but had to shed it in the afternoon. Never used to wear booties with skirts but these are perfect with their lower shaft.
I chose to wear a dress under my skirt (the first my friend gave me) but had to change mid day because it was too warm outdoors. It was fun to use Jodie’s idea (jtouchofstyle.com) to layer a skirt over a dress and I like this dress/tunic as a blouse.
Now this is really one of my favorite looks this month (as well as that first outfit): this blouse is a size L and too large for me but I bought it anyways (3 years ago) because I loved the color and print. This past Sunday, I tried something new by belting it and then later knotting from the underside of the shirt (another of Jodie’s idea). Love it with this skirt (subtle mixing prints) and these fun but painful at the toe booties. Like the shirt, the booties stay in my closet because I love them well enough to put up with their imperfections.
I swapped the skirt for jeans and sneakers that afternoon but should have worn shorts! It was warm once again!
I still haven’t figure out the best way to wear this yellow kimono. I love the color, the length and tassels but feel a little frumpy in it. I am thinking to add it to a dress or belt it.
This was another church look: summer dress for fall! I am really wanting to get a haircut soon!
As I added a scarf to this outfit, I remembered how much I love my scarves so be prepared to see more similar outfits. It is such an easy formula: jeans, tee, scarf and fun accessories! This was one of my favorites and was comfy all day!
A bientĂ´t!

Fabulous, my friend. I really like the yellow kimono. I’m sure you’ll land on an outfit you love with it. I really like the black skirt with all the ruching at the bottom, so fun!

These are all such great looks! Love how you added the belt to the floral yellow shirt to make it fit. And the gray jeans look fabulous with the white tee and pretty scarf!

The yellow shirt is lovely. And I really like the first two skirts especially the tie-dye print one. You have some great clothes!

Thank you! I think we all think a lot that about each other’s clothes! I definitely have gotten rid of what I didn’t like and added a little of what I like!

I love, love, love your tie dye skirt outfit! But all of your outfits look fantastic, Mireille. I’m so envious that you can wear yellow. Your yellow kimono doesn’t look frumpy to me, but I know it’s no fun to wear something that makes you feel frumpy. I think a belt is a good idea.
Fun post!

I know: isn’t that skirt cool! I was so happy when I saw it among the stuff my neighbor gave me!

I love how you had fun with some of my ideas Mireille!!
That yellow duster is really pretty but I know what you mean…sometimes it just doesn’t feel right. Play around with it…a belt, over a shift dress or maybe you need to make it asymmetrical with tying it up??

Going to have to try tying it! I actually am wearing it for my Sunday Showcase post with a shift dress. And you are the blogger feature at the end of the post! Working on finishing touches: played around and made the collages for the first time: Ada recommended a fun app.

I love all the yellow, you wear it so well, and it’s nice to see you starting to add layers, even though we are starting to shed the layers here, haha! It’s actually been really warm here so far! Much warmer than normal for spring!
Hope that you are having a great weekend 🙂

I know, it is so fun to see the opposite seasons! I am enjoying the layers at least in the morning.

I love love love the outfits! I cannot even come close to picking a favorite – they’re all so great. I totally get you on the kimono – I have two but haven’t worn them because I feel so frumpy but they look beautiful on others. I think the cut and color of yours is beautiful. Love it.

Yes! I think we are hyper critical of ourselves sometimes..

Lots of great outfits, Mireille! That tie dye skirt is to die for! I love the way you styled it for fall, too. And the gray and yellow combination at the end is fall perfection. Thanks for linking, my friend.
