Inspired by Lisa at Coast to Coast
This is not the first time that Lisa has inspired an outfit of mine. When I read her post about neutrals for fall I knew I wanted to copy her outfit but of course I did forget to add a belt: that is what happens when you do not double check the pictures that inspire you! Here is the post when I copied one of Lisa’s outfit a few months back. I always have to watch myself when she shares some of her finds because we have similar taste. She could easily break my budget! If you haven’t visited her blog, go on over and leave her a comment! She is fun and personable!
I probably could have made a more exact copy of her outfit with adding the belt and wearing a tank instead of a tee and worn a pair of Nickel and Suede earrings but that is also what is fun about finding inspiration in others: you can make it your own!
This is the day I got my haircut after 5 months so I felt like a new woman! I really feel more put together when my hair is cut maybe because since I don’t wear makeup, that is one way for me to feel sharp.
This new top is a find from a local consignment shop. The prices are a little high for a second hand store but they are all quality brand name and they do have a small discounted section where I found this. I really like the neutral color and the asymetrical zipper and if I stand just right, it is very slimming!
Wearing my gifted earrings I shared a few weeks back and my neutral wedge sneakers. I really like these shoes for transition months. I have felt very busy lately and it was nice to be able to take pictures near the house. I have been working on writing my posts early so as not feel pressured for time so I was glad this outfit worked out great for a day of errands too.
This is me trying to look pensive. My son says I just look sad. I really want to get more creative with my pictures but I just look plain silly when I deviate from my tried and true poses! I need to practice I think! I am also itching to upgrade my phone (we are android fans) from an S8 to an S10. The battery dies quickly and my pictures don’t seem as sharp anymore. Maybe I should just wait till the S11 comes out but I really like having a smaller phone bill so I probably will choose the cheaper option. Just like with upgrading to a new car, I like to take into consideration how it will affect my monthly budget. I may switch to my camera for my blog pictures in the meantime.
A bientôt!

You nailed this look!!!! I love also that you acknowledged someone else, which is such a thoughtful thing to do. This is a great outfit indeed and those wedges are a perfect bootie to complete this outfit. I wish I could get on a better writing schedule and stop scrambling last minute. Have a great week ahead.

Thanks, Bojana! I try to give credit where it is due especially when I write a blog post vs just a picture!

Thank you! There is a cul de sac near my house that has no houses so it is practical for picures. New haircut is always nice lol!

I love following along your adventures at home and when you travel. And your style is so me so I have to watch myself when you share things: so it is great when I can recreate your outfit without shopping lol!

Great looks. I would love to wear white but I would get so muddy walking Mollie 🙂

Yes, walking a dog in white might be messy!
Joanne

Definitely an outfit worth a style steal – you pulled it off really well, the cardigan is super stylish!

That’s what it’s all about-being inspired by others, and adding your own personal style to make the outfit your own. I love the idea of mixing light neutrals together, especially during the darker winter months. Also, your hair looks great! I am pining for a professional salon hair cut since I haven’t been able to have one since the beginning of Covid.

Thanks, Di! I was needing a haircut for sure!

Wow, a simple casual look but it’s perfect! All these items are to die for, I believe!

They are both lovely neutral outfits on you both and even if it didn’t match exactly I agree – the best thing about being inspired by another outfit is using what you have to make it your own! 🙂
Thanks so much for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup! Even with the technical issues, ha!

You did a great job recreating Lisa’s outfit! I love these neutral colors together, too! I had to laugh that your son thought you looked sad. I think it’s a cute picture! I have been trying to come up with new poses and stuff, too, but after 5 plus years of doing this, you do run out of ideas! And I hear you about consignment shop prices. You pay a little bit more for second hand but you get a better shopping experience because I think consignment shops are more organized like a boutique than places like the Salvation Army. I do prefer the cheaper places myself, but I also like to dig around through the racks. That’s part of the fun for me. Thanks for linking with me!

I am looking forward to going again in January. It was really fun and had been so long.

Such a cute look Mireille! I love the shoes too. And I totally feel the same way about poses! Whenever I try to have a serious face I just look plain silly. I want to try practicing in front of a mirror but I don’t know if it would help! I like your pensive look though. 🙂

Practicing in front of the mirror sound like a pretty good idea to me!
