What to Wear for Christmas

I am not the only one who was attracted to this simple but special beige sweater dress from Target. Both Lisa from Coast to Coast and Darlene from Aquamarina Style styled them in a blog post (here and here). The dress appears to be out of stock online but you may find it in store. I love that the dress can be worn with or without a belt, it is not too fitted but not boxy either.

My friend and I went Christmas shopping a week ago in Marietta and I knew the square would be decorated and would be a festive background for some pictures.

I chose brown accents to compliment the dress with a wide brown belt and brown riding boots but black or even white could be fun. I tried thick and thin belts with the dress and they all worked well with it. Adding a moto jacket could be fun too or a festive red coat! What about adding a scarf? So many possibilities: a classic color can be a blank canvas to show off accessories.

These were some tall toy soldiers! While the dress is warm, I only took my jacket off for the pictures: the wind was brutal. I really think I need to write a post with some of the ideas I mentioned above, maybe in January! I love that the puff sleeves on the dress are not exagerated. Just enough to give interest!

I wore some fun leather earrings I bought from the Magnolia website years ago. Who else wants to be like Joanna Gaines? I have her new book on my wishlist for Christmas!

Who would have known that I would be wearing belts again? I actually had to pick up a few different styles because I found I was reaching for them in my closet but did not have much variety. I will most likely wear this Christmas eve to church and add a scarf for extra warmth.
