OOTD: Shopping my Closet to Copy Looks

I have been getting inspiration from different bloggers’ blog posts and Instagram posts to create my daily outfits recently. Another way to shop your closet and make new outfits is to take note when you see an outfit you like and can replicate in some shape or manner. Here are the looks I copied with my version of them!

Inspired by Megan from Honey We’re Home

Megan is always a great source of inspiration for outfits and home organization. Her pink vest in this post caught my attention since I have one in my closet and I knew right away this would be an easy look to wear. I have been making a point to wear my vests more often this winter since they are a nice light layer and give interest to basic tops. I had not worn it yet with a plain tee.

Remember! You do not have to have the same exact pieces to copy an outfit! You can see how our outfits are similar yet different!

Outfits Lately, White Tee, Puff Vest, Jeans, Booties

Inspired by Shelly from the Queen in Between

This is a look that Shelly shared in her stories on her Instagram and I took a quick screenshot so I could remember it. I have been missing my black Nike Tanjun sneakers lately and do not have any black sneaks right now so I copied this look loosely with what I have in my closet. Again my vest is not a puffer one and since none of my grey long sleeves top were graphic ones I chose this plain one. I paired this with my black joggers, the same I am wearing in the outfit below.

So the look is similar without being an exact copy. Love a comfy and fun look!

Inspired by Andrea from Living on Cloud Nine

Andrea shared a fun star utility jacket for Target recently with several ways to style in this post and I decided this would be a fun way to wear my joggers and and one of my 3 olive utility jackets! I haven’t worn them much this year! I always want to buy more light jackets for some reason but I don’t wear them as much as I should.

I often forget to wear bracelets in the winter with wearing long sleeves but they do add an extra touch to an outfit.

Inspired by from Aquamarina Style

I have copied Darlene’s looks before and actually wrote an inspired by post with this same jacket. Since it had been such a long time since I had worn olive, I decided to copy the outfit in this post. We have the same camo jacket so it was nice to take it out for a spin. I only wore the open toe booties for the pic though: it was the coldest day of the week so my fur lined booties won out.

I need to branch out in my pants: all of my pants are skinnies nowadays! I keep telling myself I should thrift several styles so if I do not like them, then I am not too much out of pocket.

Olive and Navy Look- A Great Combination

Inspired by a Stylish Fit

The same week that I read Darlene’s post, I hopped on over to Carrie’s blog where she was featuring camo with navy too! Great minds think alike! So I decided to copy her look too since I hadn’t worn my camo pants in a while. I only have one or two navy tops so I used this bell sleeve top my sister in law gave me. The front is linen (therefore the wrinkles after a day wearing it) and the back is a tshirt material My vest is a puffer vest and I only used it as a photo prop as it was nearly 70 degrees on this winter day!

I love the contrast the boots Carrie chose to pair with the camo pants. I hesitated which ones to wear before settling on my combat boots..

Is there someone who inspires you to wear different combinations from your closet. I have found it easier for me to do that with people whose style is similar to mine but it is fun to try something unexpected too.
