September Date Night Look

I have been trying to share some date night looks as I have been trying to go out more often (as in at least every other month) and spend some quality time with my husband. You got a sneak peek of this look on Wednesday in my post about our overnight stay at Amicalola Falls lodge as I actually wore this outfit for dinner. I typically shop my closet for date night or sometimes buy a new top which was the case this time. I found this cute top at Gabe’s for less than $8. I am not sure how long it will last but I will say that most of the things I have seen at Gabe’s are brand name and nice quality. There were a few items for Chico’s there that caught my eye.

I often times do not carry a purse when we go out as I let my husband bring his wallet but when I do, I try to choose one of my smaller one. As we exit summer, I try to choose some of my darker or less bright purses. This particular one, I found in a shop downtown a couple of years ago and it comes with a crossbody strap. It is a nice size for everyday use and the little buckle details give it interest.

More often than not, I wear pants on a date: I do like a cute little dresses but my shorter dress make me feel the need to rearrange and pull my stomach in so this type of blouse with white denim is great to enjoy a meal. It is blousy without being boxy.

My husband complimented me on my earrings but he did say they reminded him of fishing lures. He did really like the overall look and we really enjoyed our evening dinner and walk in downtown Jasper, GA. It’s fun to get dressed up.

I really barely ever wear heels but tend to choose wedges. I do not own any pumps but have a few higher wedges that I pull out from time to time. Knowing we might walk on our date, I chose these lower wedges which also picked up the stripes from my top.

I really am going to try to plan a monthly date night. We always enjoy them and it is much easier to go out now that my youngest is almost 4. We do a lot more day dates nowadays, by biking or walking downtown without kids. Sometimes it feels draining to make sure to make time for everyone and myself. With 4 kids, it is manageable, but I imagine the more kids you have the harder it becomes. I am glad I am pretty organized. I definitely want to plan at least a couple a year overnight trips and of course we will continue to plan vacations as we can.

A bientĂ´t!

Thanks, Kathrine! I really want to do it more but I will start with trying to go out with the hubs once a month. Life sure gets busy!

I do think date nights are important. You’d think that Rob and I could do them easily but we spend so much time with mom and Lesley that we have to schedule ours too.
I love the earrings, and would never thought of fishing lures, LOL

That is funny! Makes sense though: you get into the routine of doing things with others and need to remember to do things just the 2 of you!

Yay for date nights! Love your outfit and I, too, don’t own any pair of pumps! I walk funny enough and don’t need an extra distraction! Your earrings are a fun pop of color and you can never go wrong with the color red! I need to plan more date nights. Gosh, it has been way too long!

It is so easy to get stuck into the routine of life. I feel I always have space for improvement in that area. We do better now at doing things together more often but want to do better.

We have been going on date nights for years now, but we have also been empty nesters for years! My husband will always say something about how dressed up I am while he’s in his tee and jeans! Oh, well! I love to dress up…what can I say!! You look lovely in this top, and I love the stripes on the sandals to give that little added pop! And, I really like those earrings…did you catch any fish? Your husband sounds like fun!

Enjoy those four kids…they’ll be gone before you know it!

My hubby does have the funniest comments sometimes but he is pretty good at complimenting me too! It is hard to make the time to go out sometimes but it is so worth it.

I love that you dress up for your dates with your husband, Mireille! This is a very pretty look, but also comfortable – we needn’t sacrifice our style for comfort!

My husband likes to call my earrings fishing lures too. I just roll my eyes at him, ha ha!

Such a cute outfit for date night – I love the pops of red and the matchign earrings! I used to follow a blogger who sadly stopped blogging years ago and she actulaly made earrings from fishing lures – the big neon squid things? I have no idea what to call them, not a fishing person! she rocked them in neon outfits!

Thanks for joining the Weekday Wear Link Up! Hope you are having a good weekend! It’s another busy but fun one here 🙂

I do enjoy the contrast these earrings. I have a several different colors and need to try to wear some of the other ones.
