#7 day Skirt Challenge with Gail of Is this Mutton
Last time Gail (see her recap post here) suggested a 7 day skirt challenge it was during fall so I was happy to jump on the opportunity of challenging myself to wear skirts in winter for 7 days. I always wear a skirt or a dress at church and there were 3 church days during that 7 day stretch so I only had to push myself a little more to come up with some other outfits. It was great to winterize my skirts and to be creative. One of the things I discovered is that I really love skirts with boots.
I do not think I have worn this hand me down skirt in winter and I found that I absolutely love it with boots and decided to wear it twice in one week. I love the contrast with the brown boots and I tried a new combo with my plaid jacket: stripes instead of my usual neutral.
I enjoyed that first outfit so much that I decided to wear the skirt a second time and paired it with this blue sweater I have had for years. Added a belt to define my waist and my beautiful Caite and Kyla jacket had to make another appearance. Probably my favorite Poshmark find ever!
I really enjoy wearing pencil skirts in the winter as they show off my booties and boots. It was finally cold enough to wear my warm red sweater on this day.
Our weather was a little crazy at the beginning of this challenge with mild warm temperatures in the 70s for 2 days before dipping in the 30s and 40s therefore this short sleeve shirt. Still made it feel like winter with the hat and boots.
I had forgotten how much I like booties with skirts too, especially the pencil shaped one: I just find the silhouette very flattering. A bad hair day required a hat, this one was picked up this fall at a festival.
A date night look that I actually did not go on, I wanted to add a little variety to my skirts outfits: I paired the skirt with my thrifted Chinese Laundry peep toe booties and the Amazon sweater featured on Sunday’s post. I need to get my bangs trimmed!
My last look was so cozy! I wore it after a 5K run which was great because I was quite chilled for a while. We also went to visit a car museum that afternoon. I think I will be doing a 7 day dress challenge in a week or two. There are so many ways to winterize dresses and it will be fun to wear some I haven’t had a chance to this winter!
A bientĂ´t!

Skirts are the best items to wear attent they. So easy and stylish. I love to wear then. Have a great weekend.

I go through phases when I love them and dresses and phases when I barely wear them so this was fun!
Penny
I do like that ruffled skirt – it suits you and is quite edgy as well. That’s a win-win!

Thanks, Penny! I love the interest it adds to an outfit.

Great looks with a lot of variety. I am surprisingly drawn to the neutral colors and interesting textures in the grey poncho outfit! I usually gravitate toward colors but enjoy the simple-yet-interesting nature of this one.

Thank you, Marsha! I need to find ways to style it other times of the year. In the past I didn’t like my looks for warmer weather with it. But sure love it with boots.

You winterized your skirts so fabulously Mireille. I swear they can be so much more versatile than most people realize.

I did enjoy seeing your skirts Mirielle . Pencil skirts and boots are so good on you but I also loved the first one. I agree skirts and boots are just made for each other.

Thank you, Jill! I love every single one of yours.

You have such a beautiful collection of skirts. Firts and second are my favorite. They are such a statement.

These are all great skirt looks! I like to wear skirts or dresses to church as well. I used to push myself more during the week when it’s warmer, but our sub freezing temperatures have me all cozy and wrapped up. Hopefully we have a warmer day soon when I can pull them out!

I managed a skirt today: warming up to mid 50s this afternoon.

In retirement, I’ve transitioned away from skirts and now wear pants almost exclusively. But these outfits inspire me to explore skirts again. Nice post!

It’s fun to change it up!

You winterise your skirts well! Looks like a fun challenge 🙂 I wear a lot of skirts in January but it being summer it doesn’t really feel like a challenge for me, haha! It’s definitely been a summer of me embracing denim skirts, I’ve gotten so much wear from them this summer, and added a couple to my wardrobe!
I really like that date night otufit – ti’s a shame you didn’t get the date night, hope you get to wear this again soon!
Thanks for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup this week 🙂 Hope that you are having a great weekend 🙂

I like all of these very much. As I scrolled down through the pics, each new one became my favorite. But going back over the post, my overall fave is the blue with that great funky skirt and the scarf and gorgeous wrap. That is YOU to me. Which is your favorite? To think you found that wrap on Poshmark!! Wow!!
mimifce
I think my favorite is the fun black skirt with the shacket but yours comes in very close. That Caite and Kyla jacket has become a favorite.

What a great challenge! I think I packed too many skirts for Scotland because I am not wearing them that often… it’s so chilly! My favorite outfit is your date night look with the scarf and peeptoe booties. So cute!
As always, thanks for joining my linkup.
