April Showers with Ageless Style Link Up
I absolutely loved this theme chosen by Leslie of Once Upon a Time Happily Ever After. I knew I would use my pretty and inexpensive umbrella from Aldi but wasn’t sure what I would wear. Then a couple of weeks ago, Jodie of Jodie Touch of Style shared a look that Lesley wore and I knew that was the one! I shopped my closet to create something similar.
I really love an all white look and I have done this a couple of times on the blog with different pieces. This time I really liked Lesley’s idea of using black accessories. I tried adding a belt but it didn’t look great with this top. I love how this Amazon top is a standalone statement piece.
I am glad I now fit in these XCVI pants as I think I will reach for them often this spring and summer. I thought of taking pictures in the rain since it was predicted for the following day but the weather changes so quickly, I figured it was better not to wait. I am sure my son appreciated staying dry for pictures.
I first noticed this type of umbrella in New York City years ago and I always try to find one when mine needs replacing. I call it my stylish umbrella. I like how far down it comes and being able to see through it.
I think I look pretty unstressed even though I had been in the passenger seat in my car as I am having my teen drives us home from school every afternoon. We will add some mornings maybe next month or I will just wait till this summer for him to have more practice. It is not easy being in the passenger seat as my husband had been the one who has let him drive more.
The pensive look… Will he be confident enough and have enough practice driving by September? We are contemplating driving cross country to Arizona and maybe there will be some less traveled roads he can get some extra mileage and time driving.
Between the grass and the umbrella, I am thinking a lime green top would be really pretty with these pants. I love how every color under the sun looks bright and pretty with white. I think I need to wear this outfit in real life. Loving the white and black: maybe next date night since we haven’t had one in a while or even on our anniversary trip this summer or fall. We are thinking 4 days doing the Bourbon Trail in Kentucky (shopping for me, tasting for hubby). It will be our 20th wedding anniversary this September.
Hope this inspires you to wear an all white outfit and don’t forget to check out last week’s blog posts on Jodie’s blog for more all white outfits! They are all spectacular!

Clear umbrellas are my favorite! Genius! I love to talk about my clear umbrella! Ha!
Teaching my twins to drive was terrifying. I was a horrible teacher. My husband had to do the bulk of it. I am still having PTSD. Good luck and know that you are not alone; I should have taken a Valium!

That is so funny! My thing is I know I will be doing this every 3 years for the next 12 years, yikes!

I am loving both your outfit and your umbrella! I have been in the passengers seat a lot too but here in CT new drivers can’t have anyone but a liscensed driver in the car with them (for nearly a year!) so he can’t drive when his brothers or all of us are in the car; which means we often head out for an hour just to drive around so he can practice.

You know, I know he can’t drive someone who is not licensed but I wonder if having a adult licensed person in the car makes that rule go away… Need to do some research..
Mica Away From The Blue
Such a great monochrome outfit on you and that’s a lovely umbrella as well! 🙂
Thanks for the link up! Hope you are having a good week 🙂

I just picked up a fun black and colorful polka dot small one to keep in the car. My boys tend to destroy umbrellas the few times we use them.

Mireille, I love this white flowy outfit! It is so perfect for summer and your umbrella is super cute! I love the clear dome umbrellas, too, because you can see through them. A cross country drive this summer sounds like so much fun and what a fabulous 20th anniversary trip you have planned, too!

Our summer keeps getting replanned so who knows what we will be doing. Now we are talking New Orleans…

Thanks, Laurie! I really don’t use umbrellas much but I do like pretty ones.

I do love these kinds of unbrellas Mireille. They seem more functional since you can see through them and cover you more.
Lesley will love what you created with this look. It’s beautiful.

This is a gorgeous outfit, Mireille, and you are stunning in it! I like all white outfits, too, but I usually end up with spots of something on it! The black sandals really do pop, don’t they? And, love that umbrella…now, I’m going to have to be on the look out for one of them!

The umbrella is fun! And I usually don’t get messy in my white outfit. I need to wear another this week for a insta post.

Love the all white outfit! And I am so jelous of all the greenery! OH my gosh, it’s just so lovely! By summer we might also have a teen driver around and it freaks me out but I’d like her to get the basics before next winter. I’ll have to come looking for advice. Have a great week.

Oh, driving in winter over there would be scary! Yes so areas are really green. My yard is still half brown grass!
Carol
I’m drawn more and more to monochromatic outfits. The all-white look is wonderful for summer, and you can dress it up or down with different-color accessories. Love the big umbrella, too!

Mireille,
I love the clear umbrella. It reminds me of Carrie Bradshaw walking in NYC.
I love that you were inspired by Lesley’s outfit.

Thanks! Carrie’s style was always so fun! I really enjoyed the umbrella as a prop.
