Sleeveless with the Ageless Style Link Up

I chose an appropriate and a very broad theme for our Ageless Style link up this June. Sleeveless can be a dress, a top, a vest, it can be spaghetti strap or a broad strap and with summer upon us, sleeveless might feel like a nice choice many days. I chose to share this cute little handkerchief top I found at the local Upscale Cheapskate consigment store. Since that first visit, I have gone back and picked up a few more items. I didn’t use to wear spaghetti straps tops nor halter tops until I found a strapless bra that I like. Mine is a Wacoal bra that I have had for a couple of years and wearing it has opened some fashion possibilities for me.

The same day I bought this top, I was looking for a white denim skirt. I didn’t find one that I liked at that store but stopped by Goodwill and found this cute little lightweight cotton skirt which was exactly what I wanted. I was so happy!

The New Orleans botanical gardens were a great place for blog pictures. Each of the boys took a picture or two and even my husband joined in with the one above! It is not a very large garden but the admission was quite inexpensive ($10 for adults, $5 for children) and there was still quite a delightful array of plants and flowers. I really loved the long expanses of grass lined with hedges. If you want to see more stop by this post!

Do you remember the Blowfish sandals I shared last month? I reach for them pretty often and they are really fairly comfortable even when walking for a few hours. My aviator sunglasses are a Lauren Conrad pair I picked up at Kohls on clearance and with a $5 coupon: $5 out of pocket. I had been looking for a pair that wasn’t too big for my face.

I always find that botanical gardens inspire me: this trellis area was another of my favorites. Another area I really enjoyed was the herb garden: it smelled so good.

I also had a little fun with trying to take a jumping picture. I always feel like I look like a lunatic.

I definitely have a lot more sleeveless tops now than I had a few years ago. I don’t exercise much with weights (I haven’t in about 10 months) but my friend and I decided that we would add a short arm workout once or twice a week. We walk several times a week and I also run 2 to 3 times but I tend to forget about exercises for strengthening specific areas. We had fun and felt good after our 15 minute arm workout.

I haven’t worn this top since these pictures and I am thinking it would be really cute with denim shorts, a black pencil skirt with white sneakers and I am sure I will come up with more ideas such as pairing it with a contrasting color.

Do you wear sleeveless tops and dresses? I have a lot of sleeveless dresses that I wear year round with a tee, a sweater or a denim jacket. They can be quite versatile and great for layering.
