Wrap Skirt Summer Outfit
I am always surprised that I am more drawn to my dresses than my skirts even though I have a nice variety in each category. This fun summer challenge of wearing skirts in July has helped me utilize that section of my closet more and helped me create more outfits that will keep me cool and stylish in the summer heat. Today, I am presenting you my wrap skirt that you saw this spring styled 4 ways in this post.
I wore this outfit out and about during the week and capitalized on the little yellow flowers in it to create my outfit. I could try a contrasting color in the future or even stripes. I definitely wear a lot more tanks in the summer as they balance out flowy bottoms.
My son and I had fun taking these pictures in front of a medical center: the UPS guy kept coming in and out and I was feeling very self conscious. My son was still wearing his masks so with that anonymity, he didn’t care. The skirt is a faux wrap which makes it easy to wear.
One thing I have noticed with wearing tucked in fitted top is that posture is really important in pictures. Slouching does not create an attractive line. I wrote a post illustrating that last month and it all started with wearing this outfit and the first picture my son took in the morning.
Wearing skirt in the summer is a great alternative to shorts and gives you more styling options than dresses. Remember how footwear can create a whole new look. A heel and a lacy camisole would really dress this up or wearing flip flops and a tee would make it more casual. The ruffled and asymetrical lines of this skirt make it more versatile for me: a true midi is sometimes more difficult for me to style.
Do you have a favorite style of skirt? Do you go for patterns and prints or for one color? I probably am more inclined to wear a print maxi or some type of casual pencil skirt than any of my other skirts. Those are the ones I feel more comfortable in.

This is super flattering on you! You could also make this work into fall with a jean jacket I think! Love that you are wearing all the skirts this month.

Oh yes: it will be great with a denim jacket!

That’s a very pretty skirt, and I loe teh yellow top and sandals. Me, I like a 50s style full skirt but actually I am not really wearing summer skirts much as yet – it’s not warm enough!

I hope you will get some warmer weather soon because you have a great collection of skirts.

I love the blue + yellow color combination. That style of skirt looks great with the sleek tucked in top. I gravitate toward pencil skirts, A-line skirts, and pleated skirts.

Thank you! Since the skirt had the yellow flowers, I figured it was the easiest and full proof combo.

This is such a pretty and easy summer look. I love the way you styled this skirt with the matching gold top and sandals! I think my favorite skirts are full or flared, especially for summer. Thanks for sharing, both of you ladies look lovely!

Flared skirts are so pretty! I do find fuller skirts to be easier to wear too.

Mireille, you are beautiful in this outfit! All of that running definitely shows! I tried the pose with my foot against a wall or tree…it looked like I only had one leg! I see the key is to make sure your other shoe shows!
The only skirt I don’t like is a pencil skirt. Because I’m so shortwaisted, pencil skirts ride up on me all the way to my bosoms!! I suppose if I didn’t have those, my skirt would become an infinity scarf!!!
I can’t wait to see more of your skirts!

Thank you, Marsha! I had to watch it with this top though because posture made a big difference with how the pictures looked. Yes, you don’t want to lose a limb in the picture! I have to be careful with those pictures too and make sure it looks normal.

I just adore these types of skirts now that I live in AZ. I feel like they are so much easier to wear. I still tend to pull out the dresses more, but I have quite a few skirts now too, haha. Shocking, right??
XOXO

I really go through my phases of alternating weeks between skirts and dresses. I do like dresses with the one and done though!

I really love your skirt! Love the print and the colour.

Love the colpour combo! Yes posture is important 🙂 I’ve taken to wearing short wrap-skirts lately as they pack well taking up next to no room in a bag.

Posture is crazy important especially with certain tops!

Wow! Super flattering, and beautiful

Thank you! I haven’t worn it enough!

Beautiful outfit, Mireille! Blue and yellow is such a great color combination. Funny thing – I prefer my dresses over my skirts too. But I’m not sure why.
