Shorts: Late Summer, Early Fall Outfit

I can’t help but take blog pictures when I am in a new place and wearing a cute outfit! I met up with my friend Rachel from The Faux French Girl last month in Chattanooga in Coolidge Park where our boys had the time of their life in the fountain. Each time I visit Chattanooga, I remember how cute the downtown area is and how many outdoor things the children would enjoy. There are also so fun shops and restaurants: I think we will need to do an overnight visit next year (the rest of this year is going to be too busy!).

The fountain is surrounded by large animal sculptures that sometimes spray water. The boys tried climbing them and enjoyed getting their pictures taken by them. I wore a new pair of Keen sandals (I bought in planning for the wet season on a planned trip to Costa Rica). They are the Moxie Kids Sandals: much cheaper to buy Keens in children size: I wear kids size 5. I typically wear a size 7 in adult’s sizing.

I shopped my closet for the rest, I have worn this blue tank before with this kimono and pair of earrings but never with this particular pair of shorts. Kimonos are a nice way to protect your skin from the sun as well as a nice light layer on cooler days.

I gave myself a scare on our drive to Chattanooga (1h25 from our house) when I started to feel light headed. I stopped at an exit to eat part of my lunch. I should have eaten some protein after my run: lesson learned!

Time to cool off and get wet! The reason I love my Keen water shoes is that I can hike in them as well as get them wet. I still have a pair of turquoise ones that I plan to take on my trip but since they are older and bright, I wanted to have a more neutral back up pair.

We really had a great time on this outing! Thankfully it had rained that morning and it was cooler than home by 10 degrees. It cleared up for a while but we enjoyed the clouds too.

I like how colors can really make an outfit. I always admire Gail’s outfits from Is This Mutton and her great use of the colors that flatter her coloring. This outfit is nothing special but the colors just pop and create a happy combination.

Next time, I may bring a change of clothes and actually get wet! We rode the carousel after our lunch before enjoying a stop by the icecream shop. What a fun and inexpensive morning!

A bientôt!
