Thrifted Boho Outfit for $40
I enjoyed sharing my thrifted outfit for $25 last month (remember the snakeskin pants outfit here?) so much that I decided to write a similar post this month. I bought this American Eagle dress at Uptown Cheapskate for $17 and decided to see how I could create a head to toe thrifted outfit from my closet. I absolutely love this dress: the colors are pretty, the crochet details and tassel add interest, and the dress has a beautiful flow.
I wear my readers all the time and didn’t even realize I was wearing them until I got home. Oops! The little purse was a thrifted find in Chattanooga for $3 and even though I haven’t used it much, for that price, it’s been great to have.
I actually switched shoes for the rest of the day because I didn’t want to wear heels after a 9 mile morning run, but the color of these Chinese Laundry booties was perfect for the dress. They are quite comfortable and a find at a Revive consignment store for $12.
Since I hadn’t been wearing my old thrifted white denim jacket (I didn’t like the cropped length anymore because it was a boxy fit and it was showing its age), I decided to find a new thrifted one. I was so glad to find this one at another Revive store for $8. It is a size L but is fitted enough for me to like it.
My mom gave me these feather leather earrings a few years ago and the neutral color lends itself to many outfits. I also think they add to that boho feel! If you remember my style in 5 words post, that is one of the words I feel define my style.
Even though this dress is fitted and has a pretty neckline, my husband described this as a Laura Ingalls dress. I disagree but do see where he is coming from. In any case, I love this $40 head to toe thrifted look!

Thanks, Joanne! Such great finds!

I love this outfit, Mireille! Yes, the dress fabric is a calico, but that’s the only semblance to Laura Ingall’s Wilder. And I love calico fabrics (I have no idea why they are called that.) It’s very flattering. And cool that you are head to toe thrifted. I need to give this challenge a go.

I don’t have too many thrifted shoes so I figure next month I can do a pair of hand me down sandals my mom gave me. I will build a thrifted outfit around them!

The dress is perfect with the white denim jacket! I’ve not tried putting together an all-thrifted outfit, but I want to try it now.

The colors in that dress are so pretty and I love a full length skirt for some of my dresses. The boots are cute too and I can see why you’d want to switch them out tho after a run. 🙂 I am always wearing my readers too so we are two peas in a pod on that one! Ha!

Yes, I am actually excited about getting my new glasses that have progressive lenses. We will see how I like wearing them in pictures though.

I love that you found the white jacket in a different size. I think it’s nice to have jackets in all sizes and that one fits great.
I love the dress. It’s one of those that if and when I got tired of it as a maxi, would be easy to take off the bottom tier and make it knee-length,

I love this boho thrifted look, too, Mireille! I don’t see Laura Ingalls at all unless he was thinking of the print! I am guessing you will be wearing this lots this spring! It’s perfect with the white denim jacket, too!

Who knows because for me the Laura Ingalls look are when the dresses are shapeless.

I have found several consignment shops with some cool clothes. It’s a little pricier than other thrift stores but I really have found some pretty things.
Jennifer
I love it with the white jacket!

You have the best long – maxi – dresses. Gosh, you find such great thrift steals. I always feel self conscious…just about all the time…but in maxi dresses especially. And yet I love them on everyone else. I wish I could be more confident. This dress is the cutest. Love the colors and that black trim really sets it off. Sure can understand not wanting to walk in heels after a 9 mile run. I wouldn’t be able to walk – PERIOD.

It’s taken me a while to develop my collection, getting rid of the ones I did not like anymore and finding ones that I do! I love you in long dresses: you shared a leopard one from Walmart last year that I loved on you.

Spring -> Summer -> Fall – what a versatile dress! I haven’t been thrifting in a while, but this outfit makes me want to go right now!
