7 Day of Skirts: Transitioning from Winter to Spring
As spring approaches, I am once more excited to wear skirts and things I have not reached for in the past few months. Our weather in Georgia is still all over the place with many pretty days but also cooler rainy days. So I am not really wearing just my spring skirts as much as the ones that I think transition from one season to the other. I am not ready for sandals yet, so what you will notice is that many of these skirts are paired with sneakers which are my shoe of choice right now.
I wanted to wear this thrifted sweater skirt one more time before I put it away. This rainy cold day was a perfect day to wear it with my water resistant wedge sneakers. I have 3 pairs of wedge sneakers but this one leopard pair is the one that wear consistently because they are so fun with everything.
I actually put this thrifted grey skirt in my giveaway pile mid morning. It was giving me major Duggar girl vibes which is not really my style. For my long skirts, I love boho vibes like the skirt below. I wore comfortable sneakers because my shins were troubling me after too much running. Time to take a break and rest!
I keep this spring/summer skirt in my closet year round because it still is my favorite. I love that I can wear so many colors with it and this thrifted sweater was just the one to pair with it this go around.
I was totally influenced to buy this blue satin crop jacket by someone on IG and I was glad to find it on clearance at Target for $22. It is perfect to add a pop of color in the spring and to stay warm on a cool day. Notice my print mixing with my sneakers?
I don’t usually like midi skirts much but this one true wrap one is a winner. I shared it for the February Sunday Showcase with a sweatshirt, but on this day of thrifting I paired it with a black bodysuit. I am still searching for a white non see-through bodysuit, so please share your favorite knowing I do wear a strapless bra under, and I do not like ribbed ones. It was fun thrifting in my friend’s convertible!
This is another skirt that really works year round. I am about to put away my booties but these open toe ones stay out all year long. They are the perfect transition shoe for spring or from summer to fall.
Lastly a spring skirt on St. Patrick’s Day! I love this color and cannot recall where I found this skirt. It’s a faux wrap and has a great swirl factor. Here I am wearing it as a dress! The smocked waist lends itself really well for that.
A bientôt!

So many cute skirt outfits; funny that you said that about the gray skirt as I was going to comment that that outfit was my favorite! LOL.

Me too! We’ve had cold weather this week but when it warms up again, I will pull it out again.

Skirts are so great to wear. I love them better then dresses. But can’t wait to wear them without tights again. Happy weekend!

I think I like dresses better right now but not sure!

You are so clever to make that green skirt a dress!! I have a green top in a very similar print. Maybe I will put it on tonight and talk PC into walking up the street for a mug of green beer.
Those transition pieces are great for this time of year when the weather can’t seem to make up its mind about which season it is. We have had 80* temps and now back down to freezing today. Crazy.
Hope the leprachauns are kind to you today.

Same here with the weather. I do like that I get to wear my jackets because true spring weather doesn’t last long here.

I love how you wore the last one as a dress…at first when you were talking about it as a skirt, I wondered.
And that cropped jacket is the bomb!!
It so nice to see other women wearing skirts because I think they are fabulous all year long!!

I do enjoy them but I think for me it is all about variety. I have to change it up every so often.

The leopard sneakers are so cute with the sweater skirt. And the gray one does look nice on you, but yeah if it gives the wrong vibes then it has to go. I love all these looks Mireille, but the Boho outfits are my favorite. You really rock that style.

Thank you, Michelle! Yes, anytime I come up with an outfit with boho vibes, I love it!

I totally get what you mean by the Duggar effect! That’s how I feel about straight blue denim skirts! I wish I didn’t…but it’s like once you see it, you can’t unsee it! You know I love that long floral maxi skirt! I think you could wear it every day for a week and not repeat a look!

Exactly! And yes to that maxi skirt: maybe I will do that one week when it’s warm.

It was a fun pic! I should take pics with the fancy sports cars our neighbor’s father in law sometimes brings by.

Thanks, Kathrine! It was really fun to wear them and I want to wear them in the warmer weather soon!

Great inspiration with these skirt outfits! I absolutely LOVE the dark floral pencil skirt and it looks terrific styled this way for a more casual look. I’m surprised by how much I like the sporty look of the sweater skirt outfit – maybe I just have a weakness for denim jackets and leopard print 😉

That dark floral one doesn’t get worn a lot but it is nice to have.

You have such a great variety of skirts, it’s nice seeing the different ways you’ve worn them. I find I had a lot of jersey column maxi skirts but I don’t reach for them as much now, preferring more voluminous ones, and prints are always a winner. it’s good to have lots of different styles so you can wear whatever style you are in the mood for that day 🙂
mimifce
Exactly: I think they feel more dated now so people (me included) have donated them. I do love the printed ones better now and then having a variety of styles.
