Navy and Yellow For an Outing in Atlanta

Today, I am combining a fashion post with a little bit of a traveling post as I am sharing some pictures of where we ate in Midtown Atlanta which was a really cool spot. A couple weeks ago, we visited the Atlanta botanical gardens with my brother and his family. The boys hadn’t visited since September so they enjoyed the outing especially that the day was overcast till later and was perfect in temperature.

I continued with my mission of shopping my closet and added a thrifted piece or two and combined one of my favorite jeans for spring with a halter top and denim jacket. Both the cropped jeans and tank were thrifted.

I had to include this picture my son took in the orchid area. I really enjoy it when artwork is paired with nature.

The tank was originally from Loft and I think I paid $1 for it. My jeans were thrifted 2-3 years ago and the fun trim and length make them perfect for spring. I really like that the print on the tank is actually embroidery as it elevates its simplicity. I do not wear these snakeskin sneakers very often so they have held really well. They are also a fun print to add to an outfit.

We looked up several places to eat within a walking distance from the gardens and we ended up at Colony square which houses Politan Row. Politan Row can be described as a upscale international food court or an upscale version of a food truck gathering in non truck form.

We all enjoyed our food and were able to order from all of the different little restaurant and choose something we liked. The 3 younger boys choose pizza, my husband, my teen and I had Carribean food and the boys also got some egg rolls. My brother and his family chose Mexican.

The food was really tasty and really reasonably priced. For dessert, one person got a vegan parfait while my youngest has gelato. I loved that you had a great variety of choices in one area and the setting was really pretty. The “restaurants” were along the walls and the eating area in the middle.

We then walked around the outdoor area which has several great spots for pictures as well as some other restaurants and areas of business. There was an area with turf to relax and these fun sitting beds.

We took some really fun pictures of the boys and their little cousin. It was nice that it was like a courtyard area so you felt safe about them not wandering off.

We then walked back to the botanical gardens parking lot (a 15 minute walk) which was the best place to leave the car. Driving downtown Atlanta and finding inexpensive parking is difficult so keeping our car at the parking lot only cost us $17 for 5 hours or so. Worthwhile and it is a covered garage.

I always enjoy walking around downtown as there are some really cool architecture and buildings but I didn’t take any pictures this time. Making sure all the children kept up was my focus.

I’ll definitely will be returning to Politan Row to eat next time I am at the botanical gardens and will be sharing its location with my friends.

A bientôt!
