Spring Thrifted Fashion and Shopping my Closet

It’s been my goal to see how long I can go before I buy a clothing item. On March 23, I visited a local charity thrift shop downtown and after spending a grand total of $7, I decided that all of my new to me shirts really completed my closet well. It was time to get serious and wear all of the goodies I had thrifted in February and March. In today’s post, I am sharing my favorite outfits featuring most of these thrifted finds.

On that last thrifting outing, my goal was to find some colorful tops. While I put away a lot of my long sleeves top, this one is light and airy enough to wear on cooler spring days. I balanced the flowiness of this boho top with my white capri leggings. I also pulled out my fun cutout Blowfish sandals and remembered why I bought these last year.

With spring come sandals! I really liked how this pair picked up the yellow from the top. I was excited to pick up this top and the ones above and below for 75c. Incredible!

While I do not usually buy button downs, I have found that the right one with snaps and not buttons will actually get worn by me. This one has western boho vibes and is like a silky light colored denim. Very fun!

This halter top was $3 at Goodwill and I bought it with store credit when I returned a suit jacket that didn’t fit my son. I paired it with an old thrifted cardigan that I cannot seem to part with even though it has a couple tiny holes in the back. I took these pictures the day I had a horrible migraine at 2 AM and I was so thankful I could function once I got sick and slept. It had been 3 or 4 years since I had such a bad one. Sadly, I had another bad one a couple weeks later that ended up lasting all day! I usually can pinpoint a trigger food or weather trigger, but I am not sure why happened the day of these pictures. I did spend a lot of time outdoors running and pulling weeds the day before, so maybe it was triggered by the pollen?

Another 75c top is this peplum top. I usually don’t like them but this one actually flares at my natural waistline and I added a white belt to define it even more. It has a cute bird print on it.

I had so much fun coming up with different bottoms to pair with my new tops. These are a pair of XCVI pants I found on Poshmark or Ebay last year. They were too tight the first month I bought, but have been fine since then. The top is a light weight material and I wore my Halftee under since the sleeves arm holes are large (use code MIREILLE20 for 20% off).

The belt in this outfit was 25c and I paired it with an older pair of thrifted jeans. I am so glad I donated a pair that didn’t fit me well and found ones that I love.

Here again I paired a newly 25c thrifted belt with an older thrifted piece (the kimono) and created a fun outfit. Since this kimono is overwhelming on me I have knotted the ends. On this day, I also use a MaggieSnap to keep it together.

I had to add this last outfit I wore to church yesterday! The top was thrifted probably in January or February but I do not remember where. I hadn’t worn it till yesterday and I am not sure why because it is really pretty. I plan to wear it soon with some white jeans and sandals.

A bientĂ´t!

You find some amazing deals. Heck, even on Goodwill Thursdays the cheapest thing is $2.
I love that you look for belts. That’s one of my favorite things to thrift.
And I’m sorry about your migraine. That’s the worst.
As for the holes in the cardigan, you could always add a couple of pieces of fabric over them and in strategic other places to make a design on it. You know me, I’m a sucker for a fashion fix.

That one little shop is very cheap! I almost feel bad shopping there! But it sure was fun finding some cool tops!

That skirt reminds me of some of the Anthropologie skirts you have shared. And yes, that western shirt is really neat!

SO many cute outfits and amazing thrifted finds! I can’t pick a favorite. I love the halter neck and red pants as well as that fucshia top and wide jeans. The bird peplum top outfit is also very cute! I have been working on going through my closet the last several days. It’s so hard for me to part with things (I’m sentimental) but I’m trying to remind myself that it will make more room for the things I really love. I need to be more intentional with my clothes!

I am not sentimental thankfully but there always are a couple items that I try to make work that I don’t really love so eventually those will make their way out.

Nice round up of thrifted items! The bird print top and the lavender top are my favorites, I think, but they’re all great. 75c is a crazy good price, too. It reminds me of a thrift store I used to shop with my mom years ago that had an 88c rail where we found some terrific bargains.

I have really been systematic about getting rid of things I don’t wear so I am also being picky about what I bring in. That was such a good thrifting trip that it has me really enjoy what I have paired with it.

Love the idea of the Maggie Snaps. You found so many goodies! I love thrifting, but Poshmark is not as cheap as a 75cent tops! love the last skirt on you and the stripes with the yellow sandals. Really lovely outfit. So sorry you deal with migraines, that must be terrible. Have you ever thought of botox for your migraines?

    have a great day!

I use Poshmark if I want a brand like Caite and Kyla or Anthropologie but otherwise really would rather thrift. I really don’t get migraines very often, it just happened that I got 2 with 2 weeks and they were bad. I have heard of Botox use to relieve them.

That last outfit is so pretty! I am glad you were able to wear and enjoy some of your recently thrifted pieces! I have done a lot of thrifting this year – I’m really taking a critical look at my wardrobe and doing a bit of an overhaul with it. I’ve been to a fashion market and I’ve booked in again for another stall next month, as it was a lot of fun and I’m hoping to clear more space in my wardrobe, haha! I find that while I’m thrifting a lot I’m sticking to pieces I know will work for me and it’s good to try and streamline my wardrobe more to match up with that 🙂
