Resort Wear for Every Day for the Sunday Showcase

Welcome to the May Sunday Showcase! I know it is still April till tomorrow but hosting the link up today worked better for this month’s blog posts.I bought this crop ruffled top with summer in mind, beach vacation and a future trip to Costa Rica. Of course, though I like my clothes to work for other occasions, so I wanted to style it for everyday or a date night. I found this top at TJMaxx in the clearance section a few months ago and it originally was in a section where you could buy matching palazzo pants or skirts. Sadly, they did not have the skirts anymore when I found it so I settled for getting just the top.

Since I was styling this for everyday (and I usually don’t bear my belly when not at the beach), I chose a pair of high waisted jeans from Target to pair it with. My black block heeled sandals are so old, I don’t remember where I got them. I do not wear them often but they work well when I need some height and they are very sturdy.

My mom gave me these colorful earrings a few years ago and they are so pretty for summer months. I do need to fix one of them as it comes apart. The top can be worn on and off the shoulders when adds to its versatility.

I am looking forward to summer break now. This month is very busy for my teen with AP tests, SATs, and his junior Prom. Summer means less scheduling and later wake up times. June will be for vacation and day trips while July will be for day camps.

There are a few more weeks of soccer for one of the boys and then we can all relax. I would like to come up with a summer bucket list and include a few things each child would like to do. We just haven’t taken the time to sit down and discuss it yet.

I do love that the boys have great little friends in our cul de sac so there will be a lot of playing outside this month and the pool opens soon. We tend to go to the pool a lot the first month it is open. Sprinklers in the yard is always fun and the boys love to make popsicles.
