White Dress and Bensimon Sneakers at the Lavender Farm

I love how a white dress is a classic piece that you can style for different occasions. I have a shorter halter style one and this midi gauze one: I wear them both and have had them for several years. I thought this midi one would be perfect for a hot summer morning at the lavender farm. I was actually searching for a local blueberry or peach farm, and came across a lavender farm about 25 minutes from the house. I love lavender and it reminds me of summers in France. I did not live in Provence but a couple of hours away so I do remember trips where the sunflower fields and the lavender fields were filled with blooms.

Since this dress is very flowy, I usually add a belt to define my waist. I knew I wanted to wear my new Bensimon sneakers (I bought them on sale from VivietMargot), so I then searched my scarves for one that would tie in with it. Since it was already hot at 9 am, I tied it to my gardener’s basket which I have had for a year or two. So I brought a little piece of France on my outing!

My 9 year old cut most of the lavender for us, but I enjoyed it too. We put small bundles in each of the boys’ room and we also bought a lavender spray for our linen. Lavender is my favorite scent as I find it soothing and full of memories.

Sunglasses were definitely a must. The pair from Aldi I bought after vacation was returned as they were cheaply made and broke within 2 days, and I picked up this pair at TJmaxx which is my favorite place for sunglasses. Affordable but great quality brands.

A white dress is the quintessential summer dress: it reflect the sun, most are light and airy and the color is a reminder of the beach, Easter dresses and innocence.

I was so glad the boys were not afraid of the bees as they were all pollinating. There was artificial turf in between the rows to reduce weeds and it was perfect with no mud was in sight. We had a wonderful time!
