September in Review

I so enjoyed reading about Gail’s month (here) that I decided I would participate in reviewing my month: hopefully I won’t be boring you!

Sept 1: Happy Anniversary 21st! I went for a 2 mile run and came back to a bouquet and a candy bar. My husband and I met my parents for lunch and we went out to dinner too. I decorated the house a little since I am hosting a baby shower this month, it is my son’s birthday tomorrow and my husband and mine’s in a couple of weeks.

Sept 2: Started the day with a 3 mile walk with a friend. Cross country meet after a yummy birthday breakfast for my son. His friends spent the night and they will have sleepovers at 2 more houses: 3 of them have birthdays this weekend.

Sept 3: Church, yummy dinner and ended the day with a fire!

Sept 4: started the day with a walk/run solo, 3 miles. I was hoping for a run but my friend had to cancel. Another day with lots of yummy food (my parents visited at lunch) so I am glad I exercised early. My goal is to move 5 times a week this month. Second goal is to cut out ice cream! We went to the fair and had lots of fun!

Sept 5: I don’t always eat breakfast but my dad gave me some bread he baked and I had some Greek yogurt. I am also trying to get back to eating more salads (and limiting snacks). Grateful for running club! It was intervals and I did good but left before our group picture!

Sept 6: went to Old Navy to find a striped tee for our October vacation: I needed a simple one: once again it is an active vacation so I am trying to upgrade some of my tees.

Sept 7-8: Grocery shopping, blog pics and a walk with my friend. My days consist of making sure everyone is where they are supposed to be, running errands and doing a little cleaning at the house and then some reading. Now that the boys are in school, I am making some more interesting dinners too.

Sept 9: XC meet in the morning: my son has been improving his time every meet: under 14 min for 2 miles this week and a medal! Then my friend and neighbor brought me a yummy birthday treat from the local cupcake bakery.

Sept 10: church then a birthday party at the Peachtree Dekalb Airport: it has a fun playground where you can see the small planes land and take off: it’s pretty cool and it had been years since I had been. Hubby cooked 2 pork loins so I wouldn’t have to cook on my birthday.

Sept 11: my birthday! I enjoyed breakfast on the porch and then went to Target and TJmaxx for a little shopping (just a graphic tee, a belt on clearance and a top). I then came home and decided to be ruthless with the tops I do not wear (as well as some graphic tee) and put together 2 donation bags (grocery size). It inspired me to have 4 weeks of no shopping since I have been updating some pieces in my closet the past few weeks and need to come up with some transitional outfits (using colors not layers) this month. I am saving a lot of the new tees (4) for our October vacation. I also want to limit spent in anticipation of that vacation.

Sept 12-13: Dental appointment for myself, errands and I went to my son’s academic team meet nearby. It is always fun to see how many questions I would answer correctly. I went to running club and it was a difficult 3 miles: I don’t think I had run in a week.

Sept 22: we went to GA tech for another info session: this one was more specific: Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.

Sept 17 and 18: we had some friends from church come over (young friends) and we enjoyed, some badminton, football throwing, dinner and a fire. On Monday, I hosted a baby shower for my Goddaughter who is expecting her 4th. The diaper cake was so easy to put together. I spent most of Monday getting food ready for the party.

Sept 19: I visited my parents this morning. Tuesday is running club day. I took some videos and picture on our run for a little IG collab with other IG ladies on fitness and healthy habits. Today was also Academic Meet at the middle school. My son’s team is still undefeated so far.

Sept 20: Worked on this blog post and Fridays, and spent some time recording a day on my life for my IG stories. That reminds me that I need to put away the laundry! Senior info night at the high school today too.

Sept 23: another XC meet, this one very large and local. I also took blog pictures for an upcoming post.

Sept 24: church and a relaxing Sunday. I took a great selfie and changed all of my social media profile pictures! We also took some blog pictures right after church.

Sept 25: Visited my parents. I try to visit them most weeks. I do see them at church, but usually don’t have time to visit then as I teach church school and sing in the choir. I got another set of blog pictures taken. I made some yummy mac and cheese that we ate with leftover Boston butt for dinner. This was a busy day! I got in a run at noon with a friend, yay!

Sept 27: Kindergarten field trip at a farm nearby. I wish they would change up the field trips as it feels like the kids do the same ones 2 to 3 years in a row, but the kids do enjoy them.

Next week, my uncle and aunt are visiting from California, I need to finish packing for fall break and I am hosting a 50th birthday breakfast party for a running friend! We are also hosting a friend of ours, a 17 year old boy from the republic of Georgia this Friday to Tuesday.

A bientôt!

Thank you! I had wanted one for a while and found it on Poshmark last June. I love that it’s a very lightweight knit. Thanks, Andrea. Quite often I follow my yummy salad with a yummy icecream, lol!

Love this sentence a day format; I do this each month too. It’s a fun way to keep track of everything. Sounds like your boys are keeping you busy in all the best ways.

You had a full month of activities of one kind or another! I sort of envy you all of the kid stuff. I miss doing that but not enough to have another set of them!

You always impress me with how you stick to your no shopping. I tell myself I did that for decades so it’s OK to shop now.

Have a wonderful rest of the week, Mireille!

Fabulous selfie!! Glad to see it on our collage. I need you to come take a photo of me!! You look beautiful.
LOVED this post. I could read monthly updates and book review posts all day. Sounds like you were well celebrated on your anniversary and birthday, enjoyed some delicious meals and treats, and got in some great runs. Your photos are especially pretty. I like these glimpses into your life on a daily basis.

Congrats to your son’s academic team. And to you on purging your closet. I have done a mini-purge but need to go through my tops on Monday, especially my tee shirts. Then get all of the purged things out of the house before I put them back in the closet!!

Thank you, Leslie! It was just right time of the day and angle for lighting. That is unusual for me when I take a selfie. Monthly updates are fun, I love seeing how other people live.
