Beach Outfits: Thanksgiving Break 2023
I will say I am guilty of packing cute outfits to the beach knowing that I will take a daily picture for a blog post. These are outfits I wore on our trip this past week, but some of them were only worn for half a day depending on our activity. When at the beach itself, I usually wear a bathing suit with my denim shorts over them or my cover up. Then when I return to the condo and we go on a little outing, I will change into an outfit that reflects what I like to wear on the daily.
This was my traveling outfit: I only added my cardigan when we arrived as it was a very mild fall day on the drive down. The jeans, tee and sneakers were very comfortable for the 6 hour drive to Florida.
I wore my lightweight star sweater and denim short over my bathing suit in the morning and evening of the second day. The sweater doesn’t really provide warmth but is a nice cover-up.
We went to Watercolor to get out of the sun for a bit and walk around (they have a pretty park and a lake) and we ended up taking blog pictures. Still love these camo jeans as much now as I did when I bought them 2-3 years ago.
I packed these linen pants last year too: they are great to throw on over a bathing suit or to wear for an outing. I brought this Old Navy tee last month to Costa Rica and I was very impressed with the material: it is very soft. It’s on clearance for less than $6 now!
We had one rainy day and we went bowling, then walked around Harbor Walk village in Destin. Our meal was good but expensive! The one thing I struggle at the beach is how much we end up spending on food: about triple or quadruple (this year) what we spend at home. Even when I bring some food from home, we still spend the same amount. That includes eating out (we usually eat out for lunch and dinner once and maybe one breakfast, but it still really irks me each time even though I am prepared for it. The skort has been a winner to bring along on vacations.
Chilly day riding bikes the day before Thanksgiving! I packed my leggings last minute and was glad I did since we ended up renting bikes for the last 3 days of our vacation. I purchased the turquoise hoodie as a souvenir for several reasons: I love the color and it is a perfect reminder of our vacation, and I can wear it for running as I have just a couple long sleeve running tees. I brought along my cozy sweatshirt (a souvenir from our June vacation to TN) and it kept me warm on the bike ride as well as every morning on the beach. Not portrayed is my tan beanie that I wore to keep my head warm!
Thanksgiving day: it was a chilly day so I wanted to be warm and paired my straight jeans with a cropped sweatshirt I bought at TJmaxx a few weeks before the trip. For biking (my son and I biked 10 miles in the morning and another 10 miles in the afternoon), I added my sweatshirt and beanie.
A last simple outfit of tee and denim shorts: perfect for a day on the beach and another bike ride!
A bientôt!

Your outfits all remind me of outfits I tend to wear to/around the beach too.

Good job for bringing the extra leggings. I swear the weather changes when you least expect it.

That was a great cardigan find last year at Target: you can wear it as a sweater dress too!

I have a high school friend who often goes to Watercolor. I’d love to go there, sit on the beach and do nothing. I admit I also think about what I could take for photos for the blog. That’s good and bad…I sometimes don’t seem to appreciate the moment as much as I should.
I think all of your outfits are really cute! Old Navy’s linen pants are so good…it’s really surprising, isn’t it?

It’s a beautiful area to visit: and quite expensive lol: thankfully there are different price ranges in the different little beach towns on 30A!

I think I will be wearing it a lot this fall/winter, more than I did last year.

These are great outfits to bring and wear on a beach vacation. I love all of your graphic tees! They are perfect for easy beach living. I hear you on the price of eating out as well. It’s become very expensive and I am put off by it. But sometimes a good splurge is a must!
