2 Coats for a Winter Day
Today, I am sharing two winter coats that I like to wear when I want to dress up whatever I am wearing. I am wearing both over a simple outfit of jeans, sweater and boots, but you can see how both really dress up the look. I do have several other winter layers such as two winter down jackets as well as some lighter jackets.
I found this Free People sweater while thrifting a couple of years ago and the fun sleeve with the sequins really make it an interesting top. These flared jeans always surprise me with how good they look (I got a compliment from some random guy at the store). The grey booties are from my little foray in to boots at Belks: I have had no regrets about the 3 pairs I bought that day.
Red Peacoat
A statement coat is timeless. I really have no idea how old this is (around 10 years) and it was an end of season find at Kohls. I love those toggle buttons and the pockets. I don’t wear the hood up much but it is nice to have it.
Plaid Coat
This coat from the Junior’s section at Belk was $29.99. I had a little bit of a decision to make with the choice of colors, but I am so glad the saleslady convinced me to get this one. I love the classiness of the black and white plaid and it will go with everything. At the time of the writing of this post, it was on sale for $24.99. I am wearing the medium.
Do you own a favorite dressy coat? I find them to be something you do not have to replace very often if you buy the right one for you.

Thrifting gems are the best finds! That Free People sweater is a unique score, and those flared jeans paired with grey booties create a stylish look. It’s nice to have a couple of choices.

I love all of the coats but the RED one is my favorite. I once had a bright red full coat with shiny brass buttons that I adored…

The red is fun, isn’t it?

Thanks, Jodie! I love each of mine!

I love that black/white plaid coat. I have a London Fog coat with a wool liner that Mike bought me in 1989! It’s probably my favorite one. Most of mine are for warmth rather than style. Someday, I hope to find the perfect dressy winter coat.

I love the tan trench wool ones I see, but probably wouldn’t wear something that long.

They are both lovely! I love the buttons on the red one. We call that: houtje touwtje. I bought a long puffer coat for on the bicycle. I hate puffer coats but need the warmth.

I found a cute puffer one on Friday that I cannot wait to share. I found it at a second hand shop.
