Georgia Outfits: Packing in a Carry On

When traveling internationally, I always try to pack in a carry-on: I like to know where my belongings are, so I usually do not check in a suitcase. I planned my outfits knowing that I wanted to have several skirts on hand for the days I knew we would be visiting churches and knowing that the temperature would be in the lower 80s. This is a long post, so grab a coffee and enjoy!

Traveling Outfits

I planned my outfits for the flights knowing it would be a long travel day. Including the layovers, it was probably about 24 hours going and 20 coming back (the 2rd outfit was for our flight from Boston to Atlanta as we spent half a day and night in Boston to rest before going home).

The linen pants were definitely the way to go for long flights: Quatar to Boston was 14 hours, JFK to Amsterdam on the way over was maybe 8. The material was comfortable and the loose fit really nice to move around in. I only brought these 2 pairs of sneakers on the trip. The only regret was not having water shoes for the beach on the Black Sea.

Gap Shirt and Favorite Skirt

I wore this skirt several times on our trip, and changed right into it when we arrived as we went to eat at our friend’s other hotel. I then wore the same outfit later that week. The bag from Amazon was perfect for holding everything I needed on our day to day outings.

Same skirt but with a bodysuit: I loved having my bodysuits on this trip! They are perfect with skirts and I wasn’t overly hot. I brought 3 pairs of earrings and interchanged them to change up repeated outfits.

Thrifted Poppy Skirt Outfits

Definitely a new favorite skirt: I found this poppy skirt at a Revive consignment shop either late April or early May and I knew right away I would bring it on this trip. It was perfect: it does not wrinkle, it is light weight and has just the right flow. I love it! Again, you see the bodysuits in action: by the way, I never did snap them on this trip and you cannot tell.

Linen Pants for a Road Travel Day

The road trip to Batumi took about 5 hours traveling through mountains, tunnels and the countryside. There were some stretches of highway, but the highway and tunnels are not all completed yet. I knew the linen pants would be nice for the car ride and once we got to Batumi and checked into our Hilton hotel, we went by the beach.

I did wear the pants one afternoon in Tbilisi and I haven’t mentioned it yet, but yes we had access to a washing machine and got our clothes laundered several times.

Gap Denim

I did not wear these pants as often as it was warm and we were visiting churches here and there. I did wear them on our horse ride and wore a skirt over that day when we visited a monastery.

Everyday Skirt from Halftee

These are the two pieces I wore the least but I was glad to have, so they gave my wardrobe a little variety. I did regret not bringing my sari skirt as it would have created quite a variety of outfits.

Voila! My outfits for a 2 week vacation in the Republic of Georgia! I hope it inspires to pack lightly and be creative when you travel by plane! I will be sharing 3 of these outfits in more details the next 3 Mondays.
