Black and Red Outfit: Printed Skirt with Bodysuit
The first morning in Georgia, we took the steep way up and down to the Tbilisi botanical gardens. Since I only brought two pairs of sneakers (a white pair and a black pair) it was very easy to decide on shoes. These little Jellypop tennis shoes didn’t have as good as a grip as my Adidas, but I never did slip on the cobblestones. I chose them the days I knew we could come across more dusty paths.
I only wore this skirt once before our trip to make it special and it sure was the thrifted find of the year. The only reason I haven’t worn it since then is that I am trying to alternate through all of my skirts and flowy pants and come up with varied outfits.
I brought along a linen shirt, but I don’t think I wore it at all that day. It was overcast, but pleasant. While I only wore the skirt with black or white on this trip, I would like to try it with stripes and with blue. The material is very forgiving and doesn’t wrinkle.
One reason to like longer skirts in the summer is more coverage when bending down or sitting down. It also helps with not sticking to your car seat. Granted, on this trip, we did not spend much time in cars apart from traveling to Batumi. We walked and walked and walked. I was very surprised that our steps didn’t amount to more than an average of 15,000 a day, but the steepness of the streets made up for it.
Funny thing, I haven’t worn sneakers in the 4 weeks since that trip. I have worn sandals every single day. I did bring my no show sheecsocks and wore them about half the time. I may buy a few more pairs. I really like them for the airplane rides.
Apart from the roses, the botanical gardens did not have a lot of flowers in bloom, but it was a very green garden. It felt a little like Costa Rica at times with the variety of plants and trees. We enjoyed our visit and it was a perfect activity after the previous 24 hours of traveling.
