Tropical Pants 5 Ways

When I looked at my TJmaxx receipt, these pants were described as swimwear.  I beg to differ as the material would not be great wet over a bathing suit! So I consider these true pants and while they are a little on the thin side, I do not think they are see through. The color grabbed my eye when I went in to buy some hand soap and body wash, and I just had to try them especially that I was taking a second look my flowy pants at the time. I really try to have in mind several outfits with something new I buy, especially if I am not thrifting and the outfits below were just a few that I came up with in about 5 minutes time looking at my tops!

Black Bodysuit and Bow in Front

This is the way the pants bow is intended to be: tied in front. Most times, I will pair something fitted with flowy, wide leg bottoms. These pants are very similar in shape to my red pants and bodysuits are just an easy choice to create a flattering silhouette. I kept the same accessories (earrings, bracelets and shoes) in all of these outfits to make changing easier.

White Bodysuit and Bow in the Back

A print like this just asks for a cute little summer purse: I haven’t worn my small straw purses much this summer but I think they are perfect for a fun tropical print like this.

It’s kind of difficult to see the bow in the back, but I thought it looked cute with a top tucked in. It also creates a flatter front view.

Flowy paired with Flowy

I wore a very similar outfit to this in 2021 in this post, wearing a pair of pants very similar to these. For some reason, I really like how the asymetrical top looks with the shape of the pants. Now, I should try my pink shirt like this with my red flowy pants.

Even though the pants are long, I can wear them easily with flats and not trip. I am glad they fit well because I love this type of print and I will wear them often.

Pulling out a color from the print

It just is meant to be when you have tops in several of the colors in the print!

I have 2 tops in royal blue, but I am often drawn to this little tank: the little ruching at the collar just gives it that little extra.

I crossed the ties in the front to create a flat front but less of a bow in the back, so that neither sides at the waist would stick out.

I hope you always have at least 3 outfits in mind to wear anytime you buy something new! This pair of pants is definitely one of my favorite things I bought this summer.
