Thrifted Corset Top 3 Ways

Today, I am sharing a corset top 3 Ways. I thrifted it last month when I was searching for cognac/caramel tone pieces to add to my closet. The price was right ($3) for something that I knew I could wear at least a couple of different ways. When I shared my outfit on my Instagram stories, Jodie reached out to me to collaborate on a blog post featuring different ways to wear a corset top and here is the link to her post. I thought it would be fun to see how I could wear it and it was definitely something I had to experiment with. I had 2 outfit ideas that I chose not to photograph:  one with peplum blouse layered under (I looked like a German beer maid) and neither did I like it layered over a Halftee.

Paired with a Vest

I wore this outfit to the middle school play that my son played in. I liked the vest over the top because even though the pants were high waisted, I wasn’t worried about showing skin. The vest also add a different texture as the corset top is faux suede and the pants linen and the vest crochet! The only part of this outfit which is not second hand is my pants!

With a Skirt

I am glad I am finding more occasions to wear this skirt: I love the A line and maxi length. This is a look I would wear on a date.

Over a Spaghetti Strap Dress

I am realizing I really like this top paired with tan or white neutrals. I really think I would be nice paired with high waisted jeans too. I think my pairing choices come from the color of the top. In black, I could really see it over bright colors! Here, I added it over a thrifted eyelet dress that has an adjustable neckline: I usually wear it as an halter neck but was able to create a different neckline here.

Over a Chambray Button Down

Jodie suggested pairing it over a button down, and I looked at the few I have (I don’t wear them often). I wanted a fitted one so my choices were a black denim one, a blue denim one and a chambray one. I really love it with this chambray and white denim. I think the contrast in color makes it a cute and interesting outfit! I think that the corset top would also pair well with black shorts or black jeans.

Don’t forget to stop by Jodie’s post: I am sure she was some fun ways of styling her corset top!
