Yellow with Brights and More

A few weeks ago, I went to visit Jodie from my yearly solo vacation (no kids, no hubby) and had a wonderful time! We ate, we talked, we visited, we walked, we shopped, and just had a great visit. Of course, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take some blogging pictures together, so I joined her for two themes, the first one being what to pair with yellow. I chose to pair it with brights while she paired it with pastels and Valerie with neutrals. Please stop by her blog to see their outfits! Yellow with Royal Blue

I first thought to pair my thrifted dress with turquoise, but wanted to make sure the color contrast was bright, so I switched to royal blue. Since we were going to the museum to visit and take pictures, I chose this thrifted dress for comfort and style. It was surprisingly comfortable to fly in and I got a compliment on my outfit as I waited for Jodie, Rob and Valerie to circle the airport to pick me up.

My Nickel and Suede earrings are a nice contrast to the halter dress while my bracelet picks up the blue as well as the scarf on my purse.  That is one easy way to repeat the color in your outfit if you don’t have shoes to match, find a scarf to add to your purse or even to your wrist.

Finding a wrap bracelet that I hadn’t worn in a while that had some of that royal blue in it was fun! Did you notice above how the back of this cute cropped denim vest is embroidered? The dress and the vest are probably my favorite thrifted finds this summer!

Yellow with Red

I wore this outfit to church on Sunday and wanted to cover my shoulders so I wore a hand me down infinity scarf as a wrap. All the pieces in this outfit are thrifted from the sandals to the clutch!

I love this bright color combo: I have paired yellow with pink before, but never red and I think it works!
