Midi Floral Skirt with Denim Button Down
It’s time for another Pinterest look! I have had so much fun this summer with these! I barely wore this skirt last year, but have worn it several times this spring and summer. There is a reason it is one of my oldest skirts: it never goes out of style with its classic circle shape and vibrant floral pattern. Below is my inspiration and I tell you, I am a little tempted to let my hair go natural when I see this haircut and color. My hair right now is a mixture of grey, dark blonde and some highlights/lowlights.

I did forget about carrying a similar bag (we took these pictures early, right around 8 am), but otherwise, I thought that I shopped my closet pretty well to make this outfit my own. Funny thing is that I don’t think I have worn chambray with my skirt before: I have worn a light blue tee before and all kinds of colors, but never a button down.

This week was the week before summer really made its appearance: not more mild 80s for us, but fun temps in the upper 90s. We took these pictures mid June! We usually can tell there is going to be an increase in temperatures when it is foggy in the morning.

You’ll probably will be able to track pictures I took throughout the summer with how tall the corn is in different blog posts. I have been taking pictures 4-8 weeks in advance so the timeline might be a little off with when my posts are published. It has been fun though to take advantage of the boys being home and early mornings to take pictures.

While this look can definitely work in the fall, if you live somewhere cooler, you could wear it in the summer too, just like I did for half a day at church. I chose accessories that were appropriate for summer to give the outfit a summery vibe: sandals and straw earrings add texture as well.
I was wearing a dress at an antique/boutique mall earlier in June, and a lady commented on how she was glad that women were wearing more feminine pieces in recent years. I tend to agree with her: you do see a lot more dresses, skirts and fun frilly details when you are shopping for clothes and more women are wearing them. I like my pants and shorts, but there is something very pretty about an outfit like this.

A bientôt!

Really nice re-creation from your Pinterest inspiration! I love the big flowy skirt, your’s really is perfect for summer with lively and fun floral print. Your natural wooden accessories really add to this to the carfree vacation vibe of this outfit. Thanks for sharing, and hope you have a good rest of the week.!

What a grand combo!! I love the contrast between the fitted button down and the feminine less structured floral skirt. Super cute.
