Magic Dress: One Dress: Endless Styling Possibilities

A couple months ago, Jodie shared a fun dress on Facebook and IG that had many styling possibilities. I don’t often buy exact things that I see others wear, but it does occasionally happen. Knowing that the dress was from a boutique we had shopped at when I visited her, I like the idea of shopping small. To see more styling ideas, make sure to visit Jodie’s blog post here! She shares 7 ways to wear it while I only share 3.

The Dress

The dress comes from the boutique Just be Youtiful and Kym, the owner, keeps a fun rotation in her shop and will ship to you. Jodie has the dress in size S and the sizes left at the time I bought it were a size M and L. I ordered the M and it was perfect. Jodie used her Maggie Snaps to close the bodice and while I could have used mine, I decided to wear a Halftee instead (code MIREILLE20 for 20% off). Those long sleeves are the magical part of the dress!

Strapless Dress

Since I do not own a strapless dress, I love the idea of converting this dress into a strapless one. Now since I couldn’t figure it out, I had to look at Jodie’s video (which is linked in her post) and another video she made for me to see how to wrap the sleeves in a way that would not be bulky. It only took me two tries to make it work and I really like it this way!

I also styled the dress with 3 different pairs of fall appropriate shoes and 3 different berets and cuff bracelets to show even more versatility with this dress. I was in dire need of a fresh haircut at the time of these pictures which is the reason I decided to showcase my berets. The length of the dress can be easily adjusted to be above the knee to midi length because of the fabric’s stretchiness.

Cap Sleeve

This will probably be the way I will wear it the most. It makes it appropriate for church and dinner. I might use my Maggie Snaps for dinner out instead of the Halftee to create more of a v-neck. The sleeves went behind me and around to tie in front.

I really only wear hats when I have a bad hair day, lol! I do love my berets: 3 of my 4 are from France, so wearing them is a little sentimental.

Sleeves as a Wrap

I used one of the sleeves as a wrap scarf and wrapped the other around my waist. I really like this contrasting print: I think it makes it appropriate year round. The dress will look great with tall boots, but also with sandals.

I love having a couple of dresses that are a bit dressier than most: I can wear them for fancier event or occasion, but the style of this one makes it appropriate for a regular church day or dinner too. I might have to see what it looks like with sneakers and tied in a simple way.
