Polka Dots and Stripes with the Ageless Style Link Up
Today’s theme was a fun one: polka dots with stripes, now that is a fun combo! I knew right away that I wanted to wear this skirt of mine since I barely wore it last year after having worn it a lot on our trip to the republic of Georgia the year prior (you can see those outfits here). What I like about this skirt is the fun hem, the bright colors and the polka dot sash which adds a little bit of whimsy. I thrifted the skirt in 2024.

I wore this outfit to church a few weeks ago, and decided to accessorize with the colors in the outfit: navy, red and light blue. It kept the outfit from being too matchy, matchy.
For some reason, I haven’t been wearing stripes much recently, but they are great for an easy pattern mixing. I guess you get a bonus pattern here with stripes, polka dots AND florals. I love how bright the poppies are and I have been wearing my Oka-B sandals a lot this past year or two. They are practical and work with everything.
I’ve put up my wreath for the summer. This made me realize that this outfit would work for any patriotic holiday. It also reminds me how much I like a stripe with a floral. I may start working them in more in my outfits this summer. I have several skirts I have never worn my stripes with.

That same afternoon, we went to downtown Marietta for some ice cream before church and I couldn’t pass up taking a picture in front of one of the murals since it matched the colors of my outfit. There are really some great spots for pictures: they’ve done a great job in that area: lots of restaurants and boutiques and areas to hang out. I need to go back with the boys one weekday when it is less busy and make it a longer outing.

I think I like stripes and florals even better than stripes and polka dots, but all 3 in one look – *chef’s kiss*. I also have floral skirts that I need to pair with a striped top!

Thanks, Sally! Same here!

Yes, Mireille, three prints are better than two! I adore this combination of stripes, dots, and florals so much. I also love a good red, white, and blue pairing. How cool is that coordinating wall mural, too! This is an outfit that I would definitely enjoy wearing. You look fabulous and you totally nailed this style challenge!

I love everything that is mixed with stripes! Polka dots are very in vogue and they are also perfect to mix. What a fabulous look Mireille, it screams JOY!

A+!! Love the pattern mixing X3!! I think the little polka dot sash really brings everything together. Just adorable. And your sandals are the cherry on top. Hope your afternoon ice cream was delicious. You and the mural do share many of the same colors. Great backdrop.

Thanks, Leslie! I need to wear this skirt again. Maybe for the 4th when we go to church.

I love this combination! Polka dots and stripes can feel a little intimidating to mix, but you make it look effortless. The patterns work so well together, and the overall outfit feels fun, fresh, and perfect for summer. It’s also nice to see how you continue to shop your closet and create new looks from pieces you already own.

Thanks, Laura! I am trying to slow down the thrifting this summer.

Yes, the skirt sash is just the right amount of polka dots!
