Beauty in Spring
While I do not like pollen and how it takes over our lives for a few weeks mid to late March here in Georgia, I do love the beauty that springs brings as well as the days with mild temperatures and blue skies. I took some time last month to take pictures of the beauty around us because the blooms do not last long.
I learned something new this year, there are 2 types of wisteria. One is native to Georgia and one is an invasive species. I am not sure which this one is, but I was so glad to be able to take a picture of some blooms on our spring break as I usually see wisteria on the side of highways and roads where I cannot take a picture.
Another happy moment was when I came across a dogwood tree on the way back from a run! I didn’t have my phone, but my friend did and took a picture for me!
I have 3 lavender plants and I love the blooms. They are not French lavender, but they still remind me of summers in France. I love the beautiful purple and the memories I associate with lavender.
You really have to take pictures when you see the trees full of blooms. You never know when the rain will come and when those blooms will drop. It’s been a few years since I have been able to take the pictures of all of my favorites.
Next Wednesday is actually the last day of school for the boys (my college child has been off for a couple weeks now), so we will hopefully have many days filled with breakfast and lunch outdoors, afternoon at the pool and stay cool in the AC! I really enjoy spring much more than summer as summer equals mosquitoes, no see-ums and humidity!
Last, are these tulips that surprise me every year in front of the house. I do not remember when I planted these bulbs, so the blooms are a happy surprise each spring!
A bientôt!

The photos are beautiful! Spring is lovely isn’t it.
Our school holidays are very different to yours in the States. Kids break up on July 18th, or later, for 6 weeks and return 1st September. Enjoy your time with the boys 🙂

What stunning blooms! My son is moving to Georgia in August so I will have to try to come around this time to see all this gorgeousness!

The blooms are all off the trees here, too. I’m waiting on my hydrangeas to bloom. I think they must be a dwarf variety because they certainly haven’t grown much. I have some lavender on the south side of the house. I think, this year, I will harvest some for sachets.

These are some really lovely blooms! We’re just getting socked with pollen now and are slowly starting to see things blooming.
