Thrifted Tulip Hem Pants for the Botanical Gardens
I put away a lot of my denim and pants mid spring until fall as it gets way to hot to wear them during the summer months with the heat and humidity here in Georgia. However, I have a few pairs of lighter denim that I occasionally wear and this pair of thrifted tulip hem denim is one I enjoy pulling out on a cooler summer day. I almost didn’t buy them as they are a little loose around the waist and stretch out some, however it’s nothing that a belt can’t fix. The tulip hem is so fun and I am glad I bought them. As most things from my favorite local thrift store, they were just $2-3!
The first week of summer break was a really wet week with rain and thunderstorm on the forecast every day. So, when we had a day with partly skies, I decided it was the perfect day to visit the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and the new exhibition which I will share next week. I had told the boys we would pick up lunch at the French Bakery (Bonnin’s Bakery) on the way, so I knew every one would want to come. My oldest is taking several online summer classes, so it was a nice break for him.
I have several totes that are practical in the summer to carry waters and snacks, so I chose my Spanish one on this day and added a scarf that matched my top. The scarf still had the rosette I created for a blog post outfit (here).

I love halter tops and have a nice little collection, most of them I found several years ago on the clearance rack for a few dollars at TJMaxx. I love the color and textured eyelet of this one. My Oka B sandals are on repeat all spring and summer long.
The boys and I really enjoyed our time together and we stopped at the Guitar Center on the way back home with a little detour through Atlanta (the pretty section with really expensive homes) when I made a wrong turn. My 15 year old bought a guitar (well, he partly bought it) as he want to learn how to play. He received a keyboard on his birthday and took a semester of keyboarding at school and I have been impressed with how he has picked it up. It’s really fun to see him develop his interests.
A bientôt!

That’s a great outfit. The pants look so nice and that halter top too. Amazing you can go around bare-armed like that now – we’ve had very changeable weather with 4 seasons in one day!

It’s nice to have a musician in the family. Rob will love to hear that.
And those jeans are the coolest. I’m glad you bought them. Sure a belt is an easy fix, but there’s also cool little snaps that work too.

He really is into it! Today, he was looking up how much high school music teachers/directors made. You’ll have to show me those snaps!

They are really nice: when I have the membership, I try to go a few times a year to see the different plants in season and the different exhibits.

I love the combo of the halter and jeans! We have a similar pair at my work and I’m trying not to buy them!

That’s funny! I do love these, but I did only pay just a few dollars.

Cute pants! The fun little tulip hem is so whimsical and the turquoise top just boosts the whimsy! It is so rewarding to watch our children grow into these really cool, driven, talented young adults, isn’t it? It sounds like a beautiful day spent with your kids!
