Date Night Outfit with Striped Shorts

When I wore these shorts last month (here), I thought it would be fun to style them again but in a dressy manner. Sadly, I haven’t gone on a recent date (it’s been busy around here), but I think this would be a perfect outfit to go out to dinner with my husband this month. I am going to make an effort to schedule an evening out soon.

I usually associate a dressier outfit with higher heels or special shoes, a cute clutch and at least something with texture. Check, check and check! I actually wore 3 of these pieces together in another outfit last year: they really work well together. The thrifted lace top is one that I often reach for when I want to elevate a look in the summer.

My sandals were totally a buy influenced by Jodie last year and I really love the fun fabric ties and colors. Stripes are repeated in my clutch the purple of the top is reflected in the pinks/purples in the shoes. While these are all different colors pieces, I feel like it is a cohesive look!
