The Alice in Wonderland Exhibit at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens

The Alice in Wonderland exhibit features 38 large sculptures grouped in seven installations. We were greeted with the white rabbit and his hat (27 feet tall) as we descended the stairs from the building that holds the orchid permanent exhibit as well as the rainforest space. Of course we had to take some pictures next to it and the size of this sculptures was impressive.

We were then greeted by the queen of hearts chess set army. These were really fun to look at and to notice all of the details that are involved in the creation of these living sculptures. As we visited, we noticed people trimming the different sculptures as they grow!

For some reason, I was really impressed with the helmets! I just find it amazing how someone think to create something like this and use their imagination to choose which plants would work best for each detail.

We almost missed the Cheshire cat as we was laying on a wall.

The musical plants were pretty fun! I love how just adding some mouths and eyes created really fun plant creatures! You can just imagine them singing.

Another impressive sculpture was the queen of hearts which was very imposing in size. The little hedgehog below was really fun!

We really had a perfect day, albeit hot for our visit! The sunny skies made for a cheery outing. Having my friend’s 4 year old with us also added some fun to the outing. He was so well behaved and adorable.

The last thing before we left was this last sculpture in the fountain. It took me a minute to realize that it was a cup of hot cocoa on the left! I read the book many moons ago, so I really don’t remember much about Alice in Wonderland.

A bientôt!
