Chez Mireille

 

I have been playing around with the notion of starting a blog for a couple of years now but have been wondering about my niche. A few weeks ago, I started thinking about who I am and that is how Chez Mireille: fashion, travel, mom started.

I am happily married to my husband of 16 years and we have four boys ages 12, 8, 5 and 18 months. Having spent my childhood in the south of France and my last 2 years of high school in Mexico City, I have developed a love of traveling. Since our wedding, my husband and I have traveled to Mexico (honeymoon), France (twice, once with 2 boys), Italy (with a 16 month old) the Republic of Georgia (with 3 then 4 boys) and of course have gone on vacation in the US. While living comfortably, traveling with that many children does take some creativity and some serious saving.

As far as my love of fashion, I grew up as a missionary child and while grateful for being clothed in clothes, I never wore what was in style. Once I became a teacher, my income allowed me to buy the clothes I chose and in the past couple years I have started to follow several fashion bloggers to inspire me and sometimes tempt me with clothes and shoes. I enjoy shopping at Old Navy, Target but also at Nordstrom for more investment pieces and when I am on a clothes budget freeze or limited budget I enjoy thrift shopping.

I hope you enjoy following me on my journey as I share my daily outfits, travel tips and adventures as well as my insights in mommyhood from food, organization and child geared activities.
