Halftee: Review of a Practical and Pretty Layering Solution
I’ve been intrigued by the Halftees some of my blogging friends have shared (in particular Jodie and KellyAnn). I linked their most recent posts, but you can get some spring/summer layering inspiration by searching their blogs with the keyword halftee. Today, I am sharing my Lace Long Sleeve Halftee (gifted) with my thoughts about this product. I reached out to KellyAnn to make sure I chose the appropriate size as I know I usually wear items in the same size. The size Medium fits me perfectly. The Halftee fits close to the body and fits under your bust so there is not riding up or down. The fabric is stretchy…

Camo and Turquoise Outfit
Last month, I receive several items for my collaboration with ShopLcTv. One of pieces I chose was this pair of turquoise earrings. Just a few weeks before, at Christmas, my mom gifted me my grandmother’s silver and turquoise necklace. My grandparents had lived in Arizona and California and my grandmother had several Native American pieces. I actually had never seen this necklace. I’ve been wanting to wear both of these pieces together since I received them so this day was the day. I wore a camo tunic and camo wedge sneakers, turquoise and white. While turquoise doesn’t stand out as much against the camo pattern, I really like the combination.…

Peepers Readers: My Review
Today, I am sharing my experience with Peepers readers. Once I turned 40, I soon realized the need for readers when reading a book, using my phone and reading on my computer. Now that I am 47, I make sure to have a pair of readers everywhere: in my purse, by my computer, on my nightstand or simply on my head! I wear contacts but switching to progressive contacts would be costly and might lead to headaches. Readers allow me to read everything from ingredients and recipes, blog posts and texts! My main issue with the cheap readers you find in grocery stores/drugstores has been that they often are not…

Valentine’s Look with the Sunday Showcase
I am not one to wear pink and red hearts and holiday themed shirts and outfits. However, I do enjoy wearing outfits that do give a nod to celebrating so when Ada suggested hearts for our February Showcase, I decided to add something new to my closet. Since I did not want something that screamed Valentines, I went into one of my favorite local consignment stores to see what I could find. I was pleasantly surprised when I came across this cute JCrew sweatshirt for $13. I decided to pair it with my new TJMaxx clearance find: a true wrap midi leopard skirt. I did spend some money last month…

Best of 2022 Blog Posts
I took a few minutes a couple weeks ago to look at my blog posts insights and to see which were my most visited posts of 2022. I always find this data interesting and I really had not looked at my numbers in quite a while. I found it difficult to navigate this year as it was pulling up some posts that were from 2020. What Shoes to Wear with a Denim Dress? In this post, I shared how any type of shoe can work with a denim dress. Yes, I had some favorites, but they all really worked well. 336 views White for Summer with the Ageless Style Link…

Morning Run Sunrise Beauty
One of my favorite things from my Saturday morning runs is when we are able to catch the sunrise. Some days in the winter, it is too dark other days, it is too cloudy. Most Saturdays though, we are rewarded on our runs with the beauty of God’s creation. Of course, getting to exercise is a reward too as well as spending time with my friends. I think this might be my favorite picture: my friend took it by getting real low by the tall grass. It reminds me of the beach and the colors of the sunrise were absolutely gorgeous. I am always amazed at how the sky can…

Tweed Mini Skirt Dressed Up
Once again, I didn’t realize how windy it was until my son and I arrived at the location for our photos. So my hair and earrings are a little wild in some of these pictures. I purchased this tweed mini in December on the clearance rack at Tjmaxx. I was attracted by the texture of the skirt and the two little buttons on the front pockets. December saw me finding many pieces with fun fabrics and texture. Since I do not have any tights (I need to remedy that at some point), I usually wear a pair of leggings under a short skirt if I want extra warmth and coverage.…

Shop my Closet: 13-26
I am sharing my shopping through my closet journey this month (see part 1 here) and have been fun creating unique to me outfits! I like the variety I have displayed here from the past 2 weeks! The nice thing about shopping my closet and constantly reevaluating what I have, is that what I do keep in my closet, I really like! This month, I have tried to include color and variety in most of my outfits as well as wearing some things I haven’t worn in a while. The outfit on the right is a prime example of that. I hadn’t worn those pants since October and the burgundy…

My Style in 5 Words
After reading KellyAnn’s (ThisBlondeShoppingBag) post about defining your style, I thought it would be fun to think about which 5 words came to my mind when I thought about my style. These are the first words that popped in my mind and I feel like they do define what I enjoy wearing and what is me! I used example of some of my favorite outfits of the past year to examplify what those words mean to me. And here is is the last post I wrote about my style is what in April 2020. Back then, I defined my signature style as being fun with a twist (still relevant), including…

Winter Cozy Outfit with Thrifted Sweater
Last month, I drove up to Chattanooga to visit my friend Rachel and thrift together. We stopped by 3 stores and I spent a total of $14. This Time and True sweater was $3 and I almost did not see since it was on a rack that I skipped because the items were size large. However when Rachel showed me the color (I love olive) and the cute embroidery (I love embroidery!), I decided to try it on. It’s definitely an oversized sweater on me but in a pleasant way and I am so glad I got it! My goal when thrifting (and shopping in general) is finding unique pieces…
