Denim Jacket Spring Inspiration
I thought that it would be fun to share some of my past outfits featuring my denim jackets to give you some spring inspiration. For some of us, spring weather has already made an appearance (think the southern states) while some of you may enjoy these ideas for the coming months. I have several denim jackets and I find that each of them has a place in my closet. I wear them for church, during the week and with a variety of outfits. They are great for dressing down an outfit or give you just that needed layer to stay warm. Mustard Denim Jacket (or any colored denim) I had…

Outfit Inspiration: Recap Scarves, Skirts and Dresses with Jeans
This month, I decided to share most of my daily outfits in two posts to show you how I am shopping my closet. If you remember my post Lean Budget Month a couple of weeks ago, I shared some theme ideas to help me plan my outfits and have fun in my closet. I switched out my winter clothes for my spring/summer clothes the day before I published that post which infused a nice dose of color into my closet. I had forgotten about a few pieces and I reorganized a few things to where everything made sense. I am lucky to have a spacious closet so nothing is crammed…

3rd Year Blog Anniversary
This past week was my blog’s 3rd year anniversary! I have now blogged 3 times a week for the past 3 years minus a few breaks here and there for family vacations. I have written about shopping, budget, fashion and family subjects. I shared trips and weekend adventures and hopefully have been an inspiration for all of those subjects. I have made online friends through my blog and met a couple of you and hope to meet more this year and next. Today I just wanted to say thank you to all of my readers and friends to take the time of the day to read my posts and to…

Styling Emerald Green for Spring: March Sunday Showcase
When Ada suggested wearing emerald green for this Sunday Showcase, I thought about my dark emerald green tank (which would be a little harder to style for the weather) and then this green dress from Target which is a more muted emerald green. Emerald is a slighthly bluish vivid green but since there is a wide range of colors that fit the description, I thought this dress fit the theme well and I decided to style it in a new way. I last featured it in this post last year with a different denim jacket. I took these pictures on a sunny afternoon last week and I couldn’t believe these…

Lean Budget Month: March Goals and Tips
Last week, I enjoyed reading KellyAnn’s post entitled Closet Confessions. I have been wanting to do something similar for myself this year to help me get an idea of what I am buying, whether I am wearing it and if it was a good buy and also to help me decide when I should have what I can a lean month. A lean month is when I halt my clothes shopping for the month and work on preparing more budget friendly meals. Before sharing my tips for this month, I wanted to share my clothes spending for January and February. Please remember that everyone’s budget is different, what one might…

Zoo Atlanta: Animal Close Up
During our small winter break mid February, we took advantage of a pretty day and our zoo membership to spend a couple of hours at Zoo Atlanta. The operating hours change from 9 am to 10 am so we arrived just a few minutes before it opened and we were in for a treat! All of the animals were very visible and active which is not always the case. Zoo Atlanta is not a big zoo but it does pack quite a few animals in its space and the exhibits have been updated over the years. The pandas are always a draw but they often nap so it was exciting…

Inspired by I Do DeClaire: Red and Stripes
One of the tips I have for shopping your closet successfully is to search for inspiration on Pinterest or Instagram while knowing what it hanging in your closet. If your closet is stuffed to the gills and you cannot see what you have, you may not be able to find inspiration that you can actually copy or replicate. Remember though that it does not have to be an exact copy. As you will see in this post my outfit is very similar to Laura’s from I do DeClaire who was my inspiration but it is not an exact copy. The idea is there but with the colors but the cuts…

Build an Outfit: How to Create an Interesting Look
I sometimes put on just a cute sweater, pants and sneakers and call it a day but some days, I try to create a new outfit from my closet or decide to add extra interest to my look of the day. I am working on spending less and wearing more of what I have creating new outfits with the same pieces. Today, I wanted to share the creation of 3 outfits to show you my process. New Outfit with Blush top The outfit on the right is my first outfit: I had not worn my blush top at all this season and I wasn’t sure if it still had a…

Weekend: Key Ingredients to My Perfect Weekend
There are Sunday nights where I just exhale a soft sigh of happiness and contentment for having had a wonderful weekend. Today I am sharing which things I consider key to having a satisfying fulfilling weekend. Of course, this will look different for each person as we all have different likes and dislikes, families and schedules. Saturday Morning Run For the past few weeks, I have been running with a group of ladies (in their 40s to 60s) for 6 miles at 6 AM. It is an easy pace, we do different routes and we get to see the sunrise! It’s a great way to start the weekend! Breakfast and…

Cowboy boots Winter Outfit
I have been trying to wear my cowboy boots at least once every season if not more as they are really a cool pair of footwear. This outfit really is meant to showcase the new to me Kyla Seo plaid shirt that I found on Poshmark the first week in February but the boots complimented the outfit so well and are such a statement that I titled my post with them. If you would like to see how I have styled them on the blog before, there is a summer outfit with them and another older post here. But back to my new shirt: I bought it NWT and got…
