I love getting more wear out of my closet and one fun way to transform your maxi skirts is to wear them as a dress. This works best if your maxi has an elastic waistband. You do not have to belt your maxi, however each time I have worn mine as a dress, I have added a belt to define the waist. When I aim to shop my closet and not shop, I love to give myself a theme for getting dressed in the week and I also strive to wear my clothes in new combinations. Do you have a favorite skirt length? A maxi typically is a full length skirt which reaches your ankles,  a midi skirt falls between the knee and the ankle (often at mid-calf) and a mini ends above your knee. Most of my skirts are maxis as I find them easier to move in and I love how they move when I walk.
