Styling Silky Cargo Pants 3 ways
Anytime I add something to my closet, I hope for it to be versatile and be able to wear it several ways. It is always a little more difficult with certain items that might be considered more dressy or have a different texture such as silk, sequins or certain prints. So when I chose these silky cargo pants as part of my giveaway win from I’ll have what she is wearing, I knew I wanted to think about different ways to wear them (I couldn’t find the joggers on the website anymore so they are probably sold out but this can give you inspiration with your own joggers). I love…

Athleisure Wear: Relaxed Fit
I did not plan to blog about this outfit as I had all of my outfits planned for Monday posts for this month but I decided to go ahead and allow my 4 year old photographer an opportunity to earn some money to buy a lego mini figurine. I don’t often wear casual athleisure wear like this but it sure is nice for a change. This is my typical hiking look but I didn’t hike on this day only enjoyed a little time here before running errands. I have these old Zella joggers in black and finally found them in grey on Ebay this past year. I love the cargo…

Thrifted Navy Stripe Jumpsuit
Nothing beats finding a gem while thrifting! I have been wanting another jumpsuit or a pair of overalls, and while shopping on the 70% off clearance day at Upscale Cheapskate, I found this jumpsuit for $4! I like that I can wear it with or without something under which makes it more like overalls in my eyes. I wore this on a trip to the zoo late June and the wide legs would perfect for a hot morning. After washing it, I did have to steam it and next time, I will make sure to steam the pockets too. I don’t think it was noticable but they felt all wrinkled…

Skirt Recap: August Sunday Showcase
Well, that was a month long of fun with skirts! I really enjoyed taking some of these out for a spin and I think my favorites were my midi and maxi outfits since they were with my favorite skirts. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t like the others because I sure did and I tried to wear more than just skirts during the month of July even though they were my outfit of choice this summer. Having a focus on skirts helped me stick to my decision to absolutely buy no clothes or things for the house this month. Each time I would post a blog post, I would tell…

Inspired by Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood
Last month Ada and I shared a monthly series of featuring 12 skirts. I have found myself reaching for them over and over and I was surprised how many I had once I counted them (29). About half were thrifted and I would say 3/4 are 3 years and older (that makes me feel better about that number).,Today I am sharing a look inspired by one of the ones Ada shared: I think finding different ways to wear something is fun so here is another skirt as a dress outfit! This look of Ada’s may not be on her blog yet as she is catching up on publishing her posts…

Coastal Chic: 4 outfits to Inspire You
You either love the coastal chic/coastal grandmother trend or you hate it! It’s been fun to read different bloggers take on it the past few months. I love how we each have our own style of fashion and our particular likes or dislikes. I enjoy wearing a variety of styles and outfits sometimes enjoying bright outfits and sometimes choosing neutrals. So in all honesty, I love this trend! I remember watching Something’s Gotta Give and admiring Diane Keaton’s beach chic style. I love outfits that still are relevant and classic after many years. In this post, I am sharing an outfit I wore running earrands as well as several others…

Skirt as a Dress: Make Your Clothes Work for You
I have worn a skirt as a top before, in this post and really liked the look. Today, I am sharing a skirt as a dress! I think this works best with a maxi skirt and I like to add a belt to give the skirt some shape. I have several skirts that would work well for this exercise but I settled on this thrifted orange maxi and was happy to be able to take the pictures at the lake! Our first day at the lake was partly rained out, in a big way. Thankfully we were able to take a ride on our uncle’s pontoon and the boys were…

Ruffled Skirt: Shopping my Closet for a New Look
One of the things I have enjoyed from this Skirt in July Challenge is that it has helped me create new outfits with what I already have in my closet. I did buy a skort (Target) and a button front skirt (thrifted) for it but otherwise, I looked through my closet to find skirts for each category and tried to create a new outfit that I had neither worn on the blog nor in a daily outfit. Before I forget, I want to thank my 11 year old for attempting to take all of the pictures for this post. Attempt because as he was going to take my third picture,…

Knit skirt with a Graphic Tee
There are many definitions and types of knitted fabric! I chose this particular pencil skirt to share today because it is one of my favorite, it moves and stretches as needed and have several years of thrifting it, I still love the print! I have worn it with white and navy before but never with grey so in the interest of diversity of outfits, I chose this graphic tee to style it. The earrings and tee pull some of the pink in the skirt and the sandals mirror the grey of the tee. I pulled out my grey and pink crossbody to tie it all together. It’s funny how I…

White for Summer with a Button Down Skirt with the Ageless Style Link Up
Today, I am sharing a fun little outfit I wore a few weeks ago on a little staycation in Marietta, GA. Not wanting to let a free hotel night to go to waste, I packed up 3 of my boys and we went to stay at the Marietta Conference Center. Before checking in, we enjoyed a little walk in the square, bribing the boys with ice cream as a reward for taking some blog pictures for me. We also stopped by a couple fun shops including a kids’ toy shop. Since Ada and I are sharing skirts this month, I decided to pair that theme (button down skirt) with our…
