Skirts for Days: OOTD July 20-26
Having worn shorts for a week, I decided it was time for some of my skirts to get a turn in the limelight. I chose the ones that I usually do not reach for first. While it’s okay to have favorites, if I am going to have more than just favorites in my closet, then I need to wear them! I tried to make sure to vary my toppers too as it is too easy to reach just for bodysuits! And yes, I did start with a bodysuit! I matched the color of the top with my sandals which you cannot see as the skirt is long. Since the slit…

Another Thrift Haul: Making Smart Choices
I recently shared my finds from thrifting with Jodie in Arizona. Now as you may have noticed, I use the term haul loosely: in my case, I typically do not come home from the thrift store with a car full of things. I usually probably find 5 or so items and if I have been to several stores, maybe closer to 10 items. A week after the trip to Arizona, I decided to stop by Revive in Woodstock and check out their selection. To my happy surprise, they had a great spring selection of skirts, dresses and tops. I was looking for spring colors and hoping to find some prints.…

Thrifted Find Looks from Arizona
Today is my son’s high school graduation! I more than likely won’t be spending much time on my computer. Tears will be shed tonight, hopefully, I will think to add some tissues to my purse. I am also very excited! I wrote this post a while back after wearing all of my finds from my trip to Arizona to visit Jodie. It sure is fun shopping with friends and thrifted is such a fun way to shop as not it is not only budget friendly but quite a treasure hunt. Lemon Clutch The disadvantage of shopping with thrifters like Jodie and Cathie is that they have a great eye for…

Sari Skirt Style: 5 Ways
There are more than 5 ways to style your reversible sari Skirt (Jodie printed me a list of 14 ways), but these are the ones I have tried so far. I am just loving the versatility of this skirt as well as the print. It is a lot of fun to wear and to surprise my friends by saying that “yes, it’s the same skirt! This skirt is from a boutique based in Arizona called Just Be You Tiful. You can find her on Facebook. Right Side Up This is the first time I wore the skirt. It was a cooler day, so I was able to wear my crochet…

Summer Totes with the Ageless Style Link Up
Summer and totes… I have several summer totes that I love, three of which are from France and Spain and a couple of totes from Amazon. So for today’s post, I had many to choose from. I settled on my most recent purchase (in March) because I have found it very practical for traveling and because I plan to take it on our next trip. It is foldable, and is a great size as a purse (I can add a book if I have an appointment, and I can stuff many things in it if I need to). I had packed this tote in my suitcase for my trip to…

Mimic Monday with Jodie
When I spent the weekend in Arizona with Jodie, we took the time to take two sets of blog pictures. The first set featuring beige monochromatic outfits, I shared a week or so ago. For today’s post, Jodie and I chose one of each other’s past outfits to mimic. I did a search of spring outfits on her website, and this one caught my attention since I knew I had a similar style burgundy blouse. While I do not have bright pants like hers, I thought my white pants provided a sharp contrast to the burgundy top, and after buying these fun heels, I selected them instead of my striped…

Shopping my closet: Halftee and Clara Sunwoo Jumpsuit
I love shopping, but I also love shopping my closet. I wore this outfit grocery shopping, for a mammogram and to read at my son’s school back at the end of March. It was very comfortable and perfect for each of these activities. Today’s post only has 4 pictures because I did not realize till I uploaded them that it looked like something white rubbed off on my belly and I did not want to retake any pictures. Actually, you can see the white in this picture too! Anyhow, I received this jumpsuit last year for my first collaboration with Clara Sunwoo and I love how versatile it is. I…

Monochromatic Beige: across the decades
Early this month, I was privileged to spend a weekend with Jodie and her husband Rob in Arizona. Feeling the stress of helping care for elderly family members earlier this year, I knew I needed to take some time to recharge, have a little fun and the first place and person that came to mind was Jodie and Arizona. Jodie is as genuine in person as she is on her blog and IG, and it was a delight to get to know her and her husband better. I rested, I laughed, I met her mom Charlotte and Lesley, I saw many cactus (that I shared in some post a couple…

Tulle overlay: Whimsical Style
A few weeks ago, when I visited Jodie for a weekend, we enjoy a day of thrifting and shopping. The boutique we stopped by was Just be You-Tiful and I had a ball spending most of my fun money there. Since it was after we had thrifted, I knew that I didn’t have a budget, I could spend the rest of my cash there. That is kind of a fun and freeing experience: I found some really fun pieces, one of which is this tulle overlay. This might look like a skirt, but it isn’t. It does not have a lining so you do have to wear a skirt (or…

Spring Favorites: Style Edition
I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite outfits I wore this spring. I always feel very proud of myself when I shop my closet, combining thrifted finds with retail finds or when I realize that a purchase was a great one because I love it and wear it repeatedly. I absolutely love the color of this top! I found it on clearance at Belk and wasn’t sure about it at first because of the sleeves. Turns out they are overwhelming and they are kind of fun. Another retail purchase was these denim pants and wanting to bring in spring, I wore sandals for the first…
