Summer Alternatives to Shorts with the Ageless Style Link Up
When you thrift and photograph a pretty dress the same day Leslie chooses a theme for the June Ageless Link Up, it is meant to be! I bought this NWT dress (looks like an Asian brand) at Uptown Cheapskate about exactly 2 months before this post. I was drawn to the embroidery and the fun shape of the dress. I tend to wear fitted dresses, but decided to try this and I decided it was too fun and different to pass up. I thought it would be perfect for Pascha (Orthodox Easter) with either white knee length biker shorts or capri leggings. I have a pair of each for these…

Thrifted Dress: Perfect for Any Occasion
When I found this dress late April, I knew right away that the style would be versatile and perfect for any type of occasion. Think birthday party, baptism, wedding, graduation and even on a simple Sunday. The only thing you need to change to create some diversity and maybe dress it up a little more for one occasion or another is change your accessories. A purse, a shoe, your jewelry will instantly create a new look. Of course for colder days, you can also add a top layer like a denim jacket or a moto jacket. I think this is one of those dresses that can be worn year round.…

Tropical Dress for Celebrating
I have worn this dress a few times in the past, usually trying to tone it down a little for church since I do not live at the beach or a tropical destination. Here it is for my birthday blog post where I paired it with sneakers and a navy jacket and here I wore it on its own off the shoulder and on one shoulder. For this past Mother’s day, I wore it with a tan jacket and accessories and the restaurant we ate at had a beautiful mural that was perfect for pictures. Here I am with my mom whose 79th birthday was 2 days later. We took…

Thrifted Find Looks from Arizona
Today is my son’s high school graduation! I more than likely won’t be spending much time on my computer. Tears will be shed tonight, hopefully, I will think to add some tissues to my purse. I am also very excited! I wrote this post a while back after wearing all of my finds from my trip to Arizona to visit Jodie. It sure is fun shopping with friends and thrifted is such a fun way to shop as not it is not only budget friendly but quite a treasure hunt. Lemon Clutch The disadvantage of shopping with thrifters like Jodie and Cathie is that they have a great eye for…

Sunday’s Best Somerset Dress from Anthropologie
I shared this dress last January when I styled it for winter with a sweater and boots in this post. Today, I am sharing how I wore it recently for church. I like this dress, but it probably is not my favorite in my closet even though I spent more for it than many of more favored thrifted dress. I think part of the reason is that I ordered this one online and did not try it before making a decision about it. I do love the color, and the metallic thread throughout. One of my favorite accessories in summer time is a straw tote and purses. I have a…

2 Dressy Shorts Oufits
Most of the time, I wear my shorts with a graphic tee or maybe a light sweater in the spring and fall. Today, I wanted to share two dressy outfits with my white shorts, one I wore for the day, while the other would be more appropriate on a date night because of the choice of shoes and accessories. Just changing the shoes for both though would make the outfits more casual. Both outfits feature thrifted tops. OOTD I just bought this fun top last month after my dentist appointment: there are 2 thrift stores next to the office and I do not get to go very often as it…

Inspired by Jacqui at Mummabstylish
When I first started blogging 4 years ago, I used to find it difficult to come up with weekly fashion posts but this past year, I have been very inspired! I have been writing posts in advance as I come up with ideas for outfits shopping my closet, wearing a new piece or being inspired to put an outfit together after seeing a fun outfit on someone. I’ve also been gifted pieces this year and have typically shared those items on the blog too. Last month, I shared an outfit inspired by Cammi (read here) and today, my inspiration came all the way from the UK when Jacqui shared an…

Styling Clara SunWoo Liquid Leather Pants for Summer
I have been eyeing the liquid leather collection from Clara SunWoo and when they last reached out for a late summer collaboration, I couldn’t wait to select this pair of liquid leather skinny pocket pants! This knit fabric is neither leather nor pleather and is very comfortable and stretchy and has the look of leather. I am most excited to wear them with my fall slouch sweaters and booties, but they are going to be fun for cooler summer or spring days too! I wanted to give you a variety of styling ideas both dressy and more casual. I will start with my favorite which would be very easy to…

Black and Brown Outfits for Summer
You don’t typically think of black and brown outfits for summer, but I was inspired last month to see if I could create 5 outfits from my closet using those colors. I was on a neutral kick and felt like I hadn’t worn either color in a while. To give the combination more of a summer feel, I added white accessories or pieces to add a contrast. I am always amazed how many new outfits I can create when I put my mind to it and sometimes wonder why I am still tempted to shop. Maybe because shopping is fun and an activity I enjoy on my own as a…

Clara SunWoo Ankle Petal Pants 4 Ways
I am back with a 4 ways how to style blog post. I love getting more wear from the items in my closet especially if they are investment pieces. While these were gifted, I still like to make sure that an item I chose for a collaboration is something that I will wear in my everyday life. These pants are way more versatile than you might expect from their fun print. They are really comfortable with an elastic waistband and of course, the fabric used is fluid and wrinkle free. For pairing with colorful prints, my favorite graphics are my white ones. I enjoy wearing yellow with navy, so this…
