Minimal Fall Decor
I have become a lot more minimalist with my decor in the past few years. I have become ruthless with what I put out and keep and like, and apart from the Christmas season, there are usually just a few touches to mark the season in my house. I typically decorate the living area and add a few touches to the dining room (which really don’t use much anymore) and our coffee island. The coffee island is where I decided to add my fall metal sign this year as well as a couple felt pumpkins I bought a couple years ago. I forgot to turn on the lights on the…

Room Redo: Creative Space for Me
This was not technically a room redo, but a portion of my bedroom was redecorated so I guess it is a room refresh! Our house is a large house and our bedroom is quite large. One area is the sleeping area with bed/side table and chest of drawers and then there is a little divider to this area where someone might have a sitting area in front of the fireplace. We do not use the gas fireplace as it is not cost effective but use one side as a prayer area. The other side looked like this: A few weeks ago, I decided I wanted to revamp that area and…

Christmas Tour 2021
Ada (Elegance and Mommyhood) asked me to join her with her Thursday Moda Link Up Christmas Tour special edition! Make sure to visit her blog and see how beautiful her decor is! My decor in comparison is probably very simple since I went a little minimal this year, getting rid of some things that were not my style anymore and just adding a few things. She has some very whimsical ornaments and beautiful trees for different rooms. While the boys do have trees in their room and little villages, today, I am sharing the main living areas as well as our Nativity scenes which I collect. We’ve been putting up…

Nativity Scenes from Around the World
Today, I thought that I would share my Nativity scenes with you. I like to put them up at the same time as the rest of my Christmas decor so the boys remember the real reason for this time of celebration. I am resharing last year’s post with the addition of one more. Italy This is my oldest nativity scene. When my oldest son was 16 months old, we traveled to Italy during the Christmas break to visit my younger brother who lived in Rome at the time. It was fun celebrating Christmas in Italy and we had many fun adventures. I found this small clay nativity scene in a…

Sunday Showcase: Christmas Home Tour and Link Up
Welcome to my Christmas Home Tour! Today Ada from Elegance and Mommyhood and I are sharing our Christmas decor and giving you a little home tour. I like how just like clothes can share some of our personalities with others, that Christmas decor can do the same. Don’t forget to stop by her blog post to see more pictures of her home decorated for the holidays! You can also join us with the link up by adding your recent holiday or fashion posts. I would describe my decorating style as minimalistic but festive. I enjoy decorating but I do not like clutter so I had festive touches every where in…

Friday Favorites
Today, I wanted to share a few things that are making me happy lately! Trager Grill My husband bought himself a Traeger smoker grill for his birthday. He has always enjoyed grilling but he now enjoys it even more and likes to experiment. Even I have used it a few times! The last thing he grilled were some spare ribs and before that a couple of chickens. He usually goes to Ingles on Saturday to see what is on sale, does a little research and smokes/grills away. It has been fun to have some extra meat around to house to add to my planned menu. Closet Beautification As I have…

Fall Decor 2020
I like to share my seasonal decor even though it is not grandiose or very exciting. As far as decor goes, I really am more of a minimalist as clutter just annoys me. I did add a couple of things to my decor this year with the plaid carpet for the front porch door mat and the felt pumpkins in my tiered tray. Fall is one of my favorite seasons as the weather makes hiking and outdoor activities more fun and I love having breakfast or any other meals on my back porch. So without further ado, here is my fall decor. I bought the letter board a year ago…

Children Spaces: How to Make it Work
I have shared different parts of my home, especially the chilren’s spaces as I have made small improvements. Today, I want to share one of our playrooms. We have 2 spots that are not bedrooms where the children play. One is a loft area off the middle boys’ room and the other is what I call our media room. The media room is where the boys play the Wii and Nintendo switch and where we store most of our board games, where we have our puzzle table and now our multi game table. The purpose of this post is to remind you that whether your children’s play space is in…

4th of July Decor
Today I am sharing my patriotic decor. I usually pull it out a few weeks before the 4th, sometimes remember to have it out for Memorial Day weekend as well as Labor Day and Veteran’s Day. What I like about it is that all of it was budget friendly and I feel that it is complete so I do not have to invest any more money each year. My front door wreath was a find at Aldi 2 summers ago for less than $20! I love it: it is wooden so I have to make sure to store it well but it has held up well. It makes a pretty…

Baby room updates
Following with last Friday’s room update, today I am sharing a few things I did to my youngest’s bedroom. He is 2 and a half years old and thankfull still sleeps in his crib. The crib has made it through 4 children so we definitely got our money’s worth! It was purchased at Baby’s R Us 13 years ago! I like that it is a 4 in 1 crib so we can take the front off when he starts climbing out of it. We have one of the boy’s extra mattress and box spring for when he outgrows it. The main reason I wanted to make some updates to our…
