Monochromatic Black for Summer
I love an all white look for summer but I also love an all black look too! While I wouldn’t wear all black and sit in the sun, an all black look is chic and classy for summer and can be appropriate depending on your activity. Today, I am sharing a look I wore running errands and hanging out at the house, a look I did a little walk in and a dressier look I would wear going out or going to an indoor event. Black skirt and graphic tee Often times, when I wear all black, I like to add some color with bright accessories. I have neutral sandals…

Cooper’s Furnace Hike
As I have mentioned before, I really love where we live. We have great neighbors, we are not too close to Atlanta but close enough if we want to do something and we are in short driving distance from several places to hike. This past week, my sister in law and I went to hike at Cooper’s Furnace which dates to the civil war era and the stone structure still stands. Since the older kids were still wiped out from the prior day’s activities (a hike and the pool), we just took my toddler with us. We’ve done this hike several times but I had forgotten how narrow the path…

Inspired by Paula of Dimples on my What
I started reading Paula’s blog a year and a half ago, I think. I love to follow different bloggers not only for their sense of style (which she has therefore my inspiration for today’s outfit) but also for inspiration in other areas of life. Paula is a wife, a mother, and a grandmother and shares fashion tips for full figured women as well as shares personal inspiration. One of my favorite post was Overcome the Dark, Keep the Light on which something I needed to read at the time. She reminds me that I should draw strength from the scriptures (which is a habit I need to get back into).…

4th of July Decor
Today I am sharing my patriotic decor. I usually pull it out a few weeks before the 4th, sometimes remember to have it out for Memorial Day weekend as well as Labor Day and Veteran’s Day. What I like about it is that all of it was budget friendly and I feel that it is complete so I do not have to invest any more money each year. My front door wreath was a find at Aldi 2 summers ago for less than $20! I love it: it is wooden so I have to make sure to store it well but it has held up well. It makes a pretty…

Family Bike Ride!
After taking a weekend off from any outdoor adventure, we were ready for some fun this past Saturday. I took it easy for about 10 days, no walking, no biking and no running and it appears that my leg splints have disappeared. I will slowly add some running back in. Anyhow, we deciding to hit the Silver Comet Trail again and ride even further this time. Knowing my children, I made sure to pack some snacks, some water and some lunch. After trying going in the opposite direction on the trail last time, we decided we like the original direction of going towards Atlanta because it is flatter as well…

June Favorite Outfits
Today I am sharing my favorite outfits of the day for the month of June. I always like to revisit my Instagram posts in a blog post because it helps me figure out which works and doesn’t work. I think this was my favorite look for the month of June: I love the feminity of the white peasant blouse paired with the denim and the accessories just make the outfit complete. It also make me happy to see how I wear certain things over and over again over the years such as the sandals and the blouse. I have been all about flowy clothes this summer whether they are flowy…

June Favorites
Another month has gone by and we have enjoyed some more home time! I am getting a little cabin fever so I have planned a couple get together friends in the next couple of weeks. While I have slowed down my shopping, there a couple things that made it into my home so I will share by top 2 favorites of those. #1 The Pool After some debating, our HOA decided to open the pool the first week of June. I was beyond grateful since it has been harder to convince my boys to go play outside. The newness of playing outside at all hours of the day has worn…

Summer Weddings with Ada’s Thursday Moda Link Up
While there might be fewer wedding invitations this summer as some have posponed their wedding or made it a smaller affair, it is always fun to consider what to wear to a celebratory event such as a wedding. As most of my friends are in the same stage of life as I am, married with kids, there has been fewer wedding invitations in the past 10 years. However, having younger cousins, we have gone or been invited to a few summer weddings. Sadly we missed the last two by being out of the country on vacation. Today, I am pleased to have been invited to join co-host the Thursday Moda…

Yellow Wide Legged Pants: 2 ways
When I was looking for a a white tee with details to replace my dingy one, I came accross these yellow floral pants at Ross. At $8.99 I couldn’t pass them up and took them to try on. My closet has become quite colorful this year and I am loving it. Dressing in the morning makes me happy and brigthens my outlook on the day combined with a to do list (having a sense of purpose and accomplisment helps me feel like I haven’t wished the day away). Of course, before deciding to keep them I had to think of several ways I could wear them. Today I am sharing…
